Terrence Williams
SG/SF (Rank: #14) | 6-6, 220 | Age: 21
Louisville (Senior)

Positives:
•One of the top athletes in college basketball
•Attacks the paint and executes
•Very tough physically
•Excellent rebounder
•Provides energy/intensity
•All-around defender, potential to-be-great
•Ability to catch and shoot
•Excels in transition-play
•Good passer/Can create for others (Led the team in assists in senior year with 5 APG)
•Picks up steals

Negatives:
•Can be quite erratic at times
•Creating his own shot?
•Has not shown a consistent jumpshot
•Basketball IQ?
•Settles for bad shots
•Offensive game needs polishing
•Getting to the line more and hitting the shots (58% FT shooter during senior year)

Topics to discuss:
-Can be a candidate to draft with an acquired pick (In the teens)
-Player comparison? Igoudala, Rich-Man's Tony Allen, Corey Maggette
-Ceiling?

I really, really like him a lot 15 and down. I would be really disappointed if the Raptors drafted him at 9.

If somehow Raptors Get Tyreke Evens or Demar Derozan with the 9th pick

and then

buys a pick and gets Terrence Williams or maybe be late first round early second round pick for Danny Green

I WOULD BE EXTREEEMLY HAPPY

IMO, best comparison for him is Shane Battier and Tayshuan Prince. Both Battier and Prince aren't liable offensive threats much like T-Will yet they play aggressive defense night in and night out.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

if this was a "Guess who this player is?" game, i would have guessed:

because their scouting reports and games sound so familiar, it's scary.
#Raptors are 7-1. In 6 of the past 10 seasons, a team that has started a season 7-1 has gone on to win an NBA championship.

I would love to get this guy wtih an extra bought draft pick. Not with the 9th pick though, that would set us a step back.

If I was BC I would do the following.

1. Draft DeMar DeRozan at 9.
2. Buy the Pacers 13th pick for 3 million and a second round pick next year.
3. Draft T will 13th.

Why do you think anyone is going to sell a pick in the teens for 3 million?
It's not going to happen. Maybe in the last 20's.
If you can get a Shane Battier or a Tayshaun Prince at the 9th pick, you take him.

I'm probably one of the few people who would be fine with this guy being our pick at number 9. I know he's projected somewhere between 13 and 16, so that's reaching, but he seems like a winner. He has more athleticism than anyone else will on the team once Marion leaves and T-Will knows how to hustle. Rebounding and defense are two areas where this team struggles. When we picked up Marion it helped compensate a bit for the fact Andrea is one of the WORST rebounding big men to ever play in the NBA. Now that he's probably leaving we need someone to pick up the slack again. A 21 year old who can also rebound and pass seems like a decent way to go.

By the way, no gm would want to sell a lottery pick for 3 million. Stupidity like that gets you fired. A late first rounder maybe, but around 15th? Are you kidding me?

Draft Derozan at 9 and Terrence Williams at 16 with a bought pick. Maybe Evans if available.

Prime Bonzi Wells is the comparison I've got
Roleplayer potential, may end up in a sixth-man role
Could absolutely help, just not at 9 ahead of guys like Evans, Derozan, Henderson, Teague and Flynn

What is the likelihood of buying a pick in the teens? I have a hard time seeing this guy go in the twenties.

I doubt we get #13-15 for $3 mill too. And TWill isn't likely to drop into the 20s.

Too bad, cuz I think he'll be a great addition on our squad. Certainly someone that has "dog."

^No then we take the next available best player, when the teams suck like we do you pick by BPA and if your a contender then you pick by need.

Remember he's a young senior. He's like 3 years younger than Sam Young, so there is still potential for growth.

From what I've seen from him he's worth the 9th pick. He's probably got one of the best overall games in the draft. The knock on him last year was his shooting and he improved it.
