I would much rather we get young signed small contracts that are signed for many years , like the 7th pick, Marco who will love playing in an Italian city like Toronto with his good friend Andrea, long term signed Andris who will love the European flavor of the city and is signed to a very nice reasonable deal, than give one player 20 million dollars a year.

Marco stinks..

Detriot lucked out to have 4 allstar players on one team.

If you think these players will become allstars then I will take the trade and run with it.

The problem is though that these players have not proven anything in the Associatian.

Why give up our allstar for potential when we can use our other players as trade bait.

Peace

how much of it was that they were all starts because they were on the best team in the East?

I don't disagree there has to be some luck (same for the other strategy not every team with multiple players making 18+ million is Ray Allen, KG, Pierce)

AR is a great potential, but again, I dont think he should be the deal breaker between Toronto and GSW, they have plenty of nice pieces to offer, I just dont see him as the end all of a trade for Bosh. If GSW keep him fine, but we'll take Andris or Monta, their 7th pick who will probably have as much potential as AR, Marco, and maybe Turiaf or Buke who are still very nice pieces to be had, and maybe even send them Banks or Kapono back in exchange.

I might take Beans and Monta and their pick, but only if Harden is there. Otherwise Randolph has to come back. I disagree the 7th pick will have as much potential as AR, who is looking like Odom with heart.

what do you consider overrated?

good luck finding another 20/10 PF in our future.

You do realize how many players are in the NBA?

You do realize how many of those PFs average 20/10? Only 2.

Your argument is very misleading. Are you saying just because Bosh can put up 20/10 on a completely crap team that no one rebounds or defends on and that he's the best offensive player on makes him a franchise player? Are you telling me that Amar'e, Dirk, David West, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, just because they don't average 20/10, are not good PF's? Are you telling me that just because he's played at center that Al Jefferson isn't good enough to compare to Bosh, because we all know that Al is a PF...

maybe not the deal breaker but definitely the deal sealer! I don't think Turiaf or Buke make us better in the long run and all you've been ranting about for 6 pages is acquiring young talent for Bosh. The 7th pick in a weak draft and Biedrins with filler is not proper value for an allstar

Whoa Randolph doesnt have anywhere close to the dribbling ability, shot creation, passing, court vision, or range of Odom.

Pretty nice numbers for a young wing.

In a free flowing offense where you can jack up as amny shots as you want. He is okay maybe not stinky but I don't think his ceiling is really that high.

Again, if we make any deal involving Bosh to GState AR has to be included. I would be down with a deal where we get Crawford, AR, and the 7th pick for Bosh. I think the addition of JCraw would appease Nellie enough to give up both the pick and AR, he would also make up for the 20+ points per game we are losing.

I never said it was only the 7th pick and Biedrins , it would include Marco and probably another incentive from Nelson and that AR is not the deal maker or breaker for me . Maybe you should learn to read my ranting better. As for a weak draft, this draft is deep with lots of nice gems to be had. People said the same thing about last years draft , that it was "weak" and no clear impact players, and every year there are plenty of gems that come out of the lottery .

Completely agree. 7th in a weak draft is not great at all. AR has shown he can play either the 3 or 4 because of his ability to handle the rock and his quickness. I think Lamar is a good comparison as well though he doesn't pass like him. He is already in the NBA and playing in the big man conference and putting up great stats at 19. you can't say with any certainty anyone in this draft can do that yet.

Andris+ 7th pick + Turiaf/ Buke + Marco for Bosh + banks or Kapono is a pretty solid package in my eyes.

Actually we didnt get any role players except bench fodder from NJ. Turiaf is 10 times better than any crap we got in the NJ deal. So are Marco and Andris. And the 7th pick is a hell of a lot better than the 16 pick we got in return. Yeah .... these packages are the same ... right...

Ellis + Randolph + 7th for Bosh is much better since Biedrins is just an energy rebound player. I don't know why people are so obsessed with him...

After the trade, if you want something along the line of Biedrins, I suggest going after Lee since they're pretty much similar. You got yourself a pretty nice core in Ellis, Randolph, Bargnani and Lee as oppose to Randolph, Bargnani and Beans.

Agreed...Lamar Odom was actually a very talented prospect coming into the league with the talent level to produce on day 1, while Randolph is a project player and it might take him a while to get the numbers LO did his first year. However, LO never could play to his potential, and at his potential he would have become a consistent all-star. This is were Anthony Randolph comes in.

Yeah because a 23 year old C a 23 year old SG and a 19 year old pickup with the 7th pick isnt young talent  Yet they are all younger than Bosh, not that strong in math are ya
