the reason i wouldn't get DeRozan is because he is a project. if we are going to convince cb4 to stay we need to select the most nba ready. i think Gerald Henderson is nba ready.

DeRozan would be like bargs, it would take him a couple of season to be a solid player

I definitely wouldn't mind drafting him if Derozen or Evans or off the board. I was high on him early on, but he's lost favour with me since. i still think he'll be a solid player though.

He reminds me a little bit of MoP....If we use the 9th pick to choose him, that might be a little far fetched if the likes of T Will, Teague, Holiday, Deblair still up for grabs.

http://realcollegebasketball.com/index. ... cle&id=154

watch this vid...shows some freakishly athletic plays. Damn, this guy's looking like a steal in this draft. What surprises me even more is his second jump...sort of reminds me of Shawn Marion. Scratch the Dahntay Jones comparison, he reminds me of Brandon Roy when he was in College minus the passing ability.

Damn...and he has a very silky smooth fade away mid range jumper...very Brandon Roy-esque. The way he cradles the ball when he drives and that post move where he spins and extends his arm to lay it in...it's scary how similar he looks to Brandon Roy. I'm sold on this guy regardless of his age. I could see this guy putting good use to all our spacing...he's very complete.

Henderson is the pick. Derozan is too young and raw, we need to win now. Williams can't create, though I like the rest of his game. Henderson has the D, he has the driving, he has the shot. He can come in and win now. Henderson's combine results were better than Derozan's (minus the leap), and his wingspan is just an inch shy of Evans, who is supposedly known for his wingspan. When the dust settles, and you just need a solid pick at a position of need, you just take Henderson. Stop thinking of the point guards - we already have four. Stop thinking of the nineteen year old who may be good someday.

He reminds me a bit of Brandon Rush. There are times when he seems too mechanical though...

I love how his best comparison in the NBA is another Dukie. Give me a break.

Anyway, he's a lot more athletic than Mo Pete. Its kind of weird, actually, that he can't create his own shot. The tools are there. I wonder if its Duke's system (not exactly a clear-out and break-down-your-man environment).

That said, i still prefer Derozan. We don't need another mediocre player....would rather strike out with a high potential bust than another (more athletic) Mo Pete.

don't underestimate the work ethic/pedigree from duke...

i think this guy would be a very solid pick for us. may be able to help us right away. i like the timing and instincts of his block shots. his jumper looks smooth. very multitalented. he could be a similar shane battier type influence to a team.

We might as well trade for Mo Pete back then, because that is what your getting in HENDERSON.Duke players are weak and are flops, Elton Brand, JJ Reddick, Dunleavy. Need i go on. Holiday or Evans is the pick for us

Brand has been as good as Bosh throughout his career. Dunleavy, before his knee injury, was throwing up 40 point games on a regular basis. There are other solid NBA players that also came outta Duke.

Now that's a recipe for disaster. We had to keep Vince happy so we drafted Hoffa to plug a hole at C. When lottery teams base a pick on "win now", it will blow up in their face. If we really, truly need to win now, trade the pick for a proven vet. Otherwise, you have to take a 2-3 year time development frame.

"Duke players are weak and are flops, Elton Brand, JJ Reddick, Dunleavy. Need i go on.

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? Elton Brand a flop?

And I'd trade the ninth pick for a healthy Dunleavy.

Do you serious believe that there is a superstar waiting for us at the 9th pick in an historically weak draft?

By the way, Grant Hill, Carlos Boozer, Shane and Corey Maggette are Duke grads too.

I may prefer Holiday or DeRozan to Henderson, but you have to have better reasons to justify their choice than slagging Duke players.

Mopete comparisions are WAYYYYY off!

Mopete was a very solid role player, but Mopete was stricty a catch and shoot player, who could hit circus shots. He could not shoot off the dribble, and has spots on the floor(corner ballers) where he would score most his points from, not to mention Henderson is way more athletic, and far more explosive, like someone second his second leap is fast! His form on his jumpshot is very good, and he already has a very reliable pull up mid range shot.

Henderon can create his own offense, really improved his slashing abilities, and has a very nice pull up jump shot. His jumpshot is very smooth, and honestly I think the Finley comparisions on draftexpress are money. I don't think Henderon will be able to match Finley's playmaking in his peak year though.

Thanks for the post...

Just wondering what do you see wrong in Henderson?
