This is the guy I want to draft with our second pick. We need tough, defensive role players like him on our team and he'd be a perfect if the Beasley deal went through and we moved him to the 3... we'd have Young cover the star 3s when we play them

I would compare him to Wilson Chandler

he is good but i would rather have Tarrance Williams

lets rate the two players

Scoring - Sam Young
Passing - Tarrance Williams
Rebounding - Tarrance Williams
Defending - Tarrance Williams
Jumpshoot - Sam Young ( T-Will is a good shooter but cant hit free throws other then that its a tie)
Athleticism - Tarrance Williams (its tough choice but i gotta go with williams)
Ball Handling - Tarrance Williams
Speed - Tarrance Williams
Toughness - Sam young ( its close call)

two very comparable players but i would go with Tarrance Williams.

It's spelled Terrence, I too would love to have T-will on this team. The thing is either we draft him at 9 which I don't think we'll do since 9 is too high for him, or there's a possibility that he falls and get him with a second first rounder around 18-25. If we can't get him I'd take Young.

On a funny side-note, a good friend of mine who interns with the Raptors was able to catch some of his pre-draft workout last Monday. He told me while performing some measurement tests, Young swung, followed through and got his arm caught in the vert jump apparatus. He promptly had to be taken to the hospital with the apparatus still stuck to him ..ha.

So geez, Sam, you're injury prone and you're already costing the Raptors money ..way to make a first impression!

He''s coming back plus he'll be in some of these group workouts that are going to be around the state that we're apparently going to attend.

That's an easy conclusion to jump to. While he brings similar qualities, it seems like he possesses a higher ball IQ than Joey. Also importantly, Sam Young has a wingspan, and Joey does not.

If Joey's wingspan were greater he could be a much more effective defender.

Poor guy, yeah hopefully, he comes back for a less embarassing showing.

That sounds like a plan. Hopefully some team is willing to sell their first rounder.

He isn't Joey v2, despite the unfortunate resemblance in the picture.

Unlike Joey Sam has actual BB IQ, has a nice wingspan and has better scoring instincts than Graham.
