Now they have Dwight, Bass, and Gortat?

They HAVE to win the championship next year. The perimeter players are there, and the big men are damn sure there.

Marcin Gortat makes the same amount as Ron Artest (or is it more?). Marcin Gortat, a 12MPG back-up C, is going to make $6.8M dollars a season.

What?

Nice. Can't say he's worth the MLE, but I'm pulling for Orlando in the worst way next year.

Their bench is awful though compared to the other contenders. Anthony Johnson and JJ Redick?

Magics board say that after 90 days they could trade Gortat, maybe to a team like OKC that has cap space.

Rumour is Barnes wants to sign with the Magic. If they get him then they have a solid bench with Barnes, Pietrus, Anderson and Gortat. Either way I believe Gortat will be traded in December or before the trade deadline. Otis just does not want to lose an asset like that for nothing. Don't forget Orlando does have a 7-8 million dollar TPE that they can use anytime for the next year so if at around the deadline they see that they need a back up PG for the championship run then they can easily acquire one using that TPE.

3 months or Dec 15, and he has to agree to the trade (need his consent).

Oh yeah Pietrus. I forgot the Bass signing shifted Shard and VC down a position and Pietrus to the bench.

Gortat is a Decent player, But him getting 7 Milli makes Bargs signing that much sweeta.

We continue to see Big men getting overpaid.

Peace

Like already said a trade has to be in the words. Why in the hell would they pay a backup that much money?

Where are you guys getting 7 million from? He signed an offer sheet for the full MLE which is 5.8 million not 7 million.

Well if he signed an offer sheet for $34M over 5 years (which is what was reported), that would make it a 6.8M a year contract. That doesn't mean he'll make 6.8M a year, but if you averaged it out, that's what you'd get.
