OT -- Bowen on the move again?

Post#1 » by Maritimer » Wed Jul 22, 2009 8:25 pm

Just posted from his Twitter feed..

Bowen12, on Twitter, wrote:Word on the street is that I'm about to be traded. Anyone know anything about it?

Can't find anything further online about it. RealGM sleuths -- go to it!

Maybe he should ask his agent.

I find it kind of funny that a professional basketball player is asking people on his public microblog for details about his possible trade.

You'd think that'd be a good place to start. I still find it fascinating what sort of stuff athletes are willing to share on Twitter now...

Agreed. Throw him in as the defense specialist. Give up George and Roko.

Hell with that. If we're trading for him, it's to wiave him outright and save the cash on his nonguaranteed deal.

Gery Woelfel also reporting that Bowen would be soon moved (also, that LAC is attempting to outbid NY for Sessions and that another team may be as well... he guesses OKC).

^ No way. Why would you want Bowen to be waived? He's a solid defensive SF who has championship experience. He can be a good vet for our young guys

Old. I'd rather get a guy like Udoka, Darius Miles, or even Graham.

Banks and Roko for Bowen.

And here's why.

We shed some cap, they get a young prospect in Roko.

Yeah that would be good. We shed Banks' contract, we get an extra roster spot to fill and Bowen and Evans would be all the toughness we would need...plus Bowen can hit the 3.

Boston loves their defense and old veterans, so Boston could be a likely option.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Damn 38 years old!!! didn't realize till I just checked. I knew he was aging but I assumed he was 35-36 tops. But I'd still take him...one for one for Banks.

bowens contract is partially guranteed (like stackhouse)
so its probably a trade for the other team to cut some cap space.

I'd love if it was us. Bottom line is you need a guy like that come playoff time.

Would give us a pretty nasty bench if you ask me. Wright, Bowen, Evans and Jack on the floor at the same time? We have'nt had anything close to grit like that since Oak/Davis/Willis/JYD days.

Guys, he's NOT a good defender anymore. He's done, washed up, over the hill, on his last legs, crossing the finish line, soon heading to the glue factory, etc.
