If BC wasn't married to our '#1 offence', we could easily try to peddle Bargnani and Caldy to try and put some pieces around Bosh that actually compliment his skills.

+1... until Bargnani learns team defense/rebounding/post moves he won't be a true C, resulting in our help D remaining subpar....

Calderon's D will never be effective, and his reluctance to drive into the paint, and make risky passes to anyone outside of Bosh will continually hurt this team....

Adding a guy like Jackson would have improved our perimeter D AND given us another consistent offensive threat in the starting lineup. Now, we are stuck playing the waiting game, in the best case we become a decent treadmill team, with Bosh staying.. If Bosh leaves, back to the lottery we go... :(

Great trade for the Bobcats if it happens. I think that extra offense could push them over the edge just enough to make the playoffs.

Stephen Jackson haters are just haters....

My favorite is the guy who compares him to Hedo
Like Defense 50% of the game doesn't matter

Anyways theirs no point arguing this any further it will be settled on the court.

Should be interesting to see the Raps all offense vs. The Bobcats all Defense when they play.

The East just got a little tougher.... Larry Brown is a good coach for him

The Bobcats can't score so Jackson makes sense for them in that aspect. He will chuck up and create.

However, that contract, and he could drive Larry Brown insane with his shot selection.

Golden States got out of an ugly situation, so good for them.

Meh, an upgrade for Charlotte, but they need some higher percentage offence. A 41% FG shooter with 27% three point range is not what they really need. Their frontcourt generates zero offence. That's the real issue. Gerald Wallace is having a terrible year offensively, Nazr and Chandler are weak contributors. Diaw is decent, but currently in the dog house.

Charlotte wasn't on Jackson's wish list, so let's see how happy a camper he is, especially if he is required to be more disciplined as a Bobcat. It could work out well, but if it blows up on Larry Brown, it wouldn't shock me one little bit.

Stop relying on your advanced statistics so much for once and actually watch the games. Defense is half of basketball. Jackson has proven himself as a role player on 3 successful teams so far in his NBA career.

Good trade for Bobcats. Larry Brown will know how to manage Jackson.

Bobcats could be scary this year.

I think they may have made this trade, so they flip Jackson later this week.

I don't like Jackson,

However, Charlotte traded junk to land him.
He is the best player in the deal, and even with three years left it seems that there is still some thread on those tires.

If he tosses up 21/5/6.5 for the rest of the season on the Cats which is a carbon copy of his number last season, he could easily be moved again this summer for more then he was traded for.

Jackson is apparently "delighted" by the trade. Ric Bucher reports he's en route to Orlando to try to play tonight. ESPN.com linkage:

The dude is right. Jackson is a cancer. The only time his stats improved dramatically, we won 29 games. He may be a good passes and decent shooter, but his stats are from the expense of his teammates. Go ahead and look at our Warriors board, they are totally happy!

not sure how much sjax would help here. he may play better defense than hedo but he does not have the ability to help run the offense like hedo. so if anything, it's a wash.

so far, the one attribute we're missing is a guy that can go north/south by taking someone off the dribble. doesn't have to be a starter but we still don't have a guy that can break down a defense and get into the lane to draw fouls. maybe we pick that up midseason or next offseason. sjax doesn't provide that.

Take some of your own advice and watch the Bobcats. They have decent defence - what they lack is any semblance of offence. Scoring points, not preventing them, is far and away their issue.

I don't quite understand why whenever a player ends up on the block raps fans are dubbing that specific player the Raptors saviour and a must have commodity? This makes no sense at all IMO.

Jackson is a 30+ year old chucker who is a cancer to any team he has played for. Don't you think that if the Spurs loved his game so much they would have resigned him after winning a title? No because he didn't do Jack. Cap'n Jack is nothing but a guy who runs up the floor with the ball jacks up a contested 3 runs back and plays sub-par defense.

If we are looking to make a deal the only one that makes sense IMO is Bargnani for Joe Johnson.

Why should I listen to a biased scorned Warriors fan? Stephen Jackson was the crucial piece of
your only playoff series in the last 16 years when he shutdown Dirk. He won a ring in San Antonio and Tim Duncan said he was his favorite team mate. When he was on Indiana they were a playoff team since hes been gone they've been irrelevant.

As for the Warriors there still gonna be a mess as long as Don Nelson is there. Nothing changes
they were a mess before Jax got there and they will be a mess now that hes gone. I guess
Monta Ellis can be the new whipping boy. I can understand that you guys are pissed that he wanted a trade after he signed that extension but at least he didn't quit like Vince Carter did.

It would be incredible considering the change in pace and lack of offensive options at his disposal. He's now basically got Flip Murray to kick it back out to. He was already pretty much entirely a jumpshooter, and now he'll have no room to drive.

I think Charlotte needed to do something, and Jackson will probably give them a bit of an edge, but I don't see this being a long-term positive.
