Raptors need a jackson esque player.

If BC wasn't married to our '#1 offence', we could easily try to peddle Bargnani and Caldy to try and put some pieces around Bosh that actually compliment his skills.

At first I thought "what a great deal for Charlotte," but they're giving up pretty much all of their 3 point shooting.

Why are posters still drooling over Jackson? Dude is a cancer, and isn't anything special to start with. Geez.

Bell is still pretty useful. He's a better shooter/rebounder and still a solid defender. SJax is a better passer/chucker. And Charlotte gets stiffed with that contract without addressing any weaknesses.

agreed.. it's not like SJax is going to make the Raptors 'that' much better..

I still think this is a great deal for Charlotte. Jackson's off court and on court antics can be a distraction sometimes but the guy can ball, great two way player.

Captain Jack would be a bad fit for this team short term and long term.

He's almost a carbon copy of Hedo on the offensive end, and he's a year older with three years+ remaining on his contract at almost the same amount.

And i'm not convinced Jackson would be happy being a fourth or fifth option on offense, especially coming from his role in Golden State.

In short, even if we got him for garbage, it would probably turn out bad.

Good fit for Charlotte though. Although now i'm really confused what the Okafor deal was for. They took on more short term salary in an effort to give up long term salary, and now they're reversing it and taking back much more long term salary.

Jackson gets what he deserved...traded to an even worse team. I don't get why people are so jazzed on this dude, he would completely murder the chemistry on the team. He is best suited for a poor team where he can put up great personal stats and contribute nothing to a winning environment, this will make Golden State a lot better (even if they got nothing in return they would be improved).

By the way, does a player ever feel stable with Larry Brown?

Uh, the raps DO need a hard nosed player who plays 2 way ball, takes guarding his man with personal pride (especially on the wing), and brings an attitude / swagger to the court... whether that player is Jackson or someone else, the raps need this..

Before we say things like contribute nothing to a winning environment, lets remember he was a big contributor of a spurs team that won the championship.

partially.. they are similar players on offense IMO.

This is a good move for the "Cats. They desperately need a scorer and a guy who can initiate an offense. S-Jax probably had the lowest price tag of any guy who can do that while also fitting into what LB is trying to do there defensively.
