OT - Amare to Heat?

Post#1 » by djsunyc » Fri Jan 29, 2010 6:50 pm

Beginning Of The End?: Yesterday was filled with a lot of chatter about Phoenix's Amar'e Stoudemire with multiple league sources suggesting that a deal with Phoenix and Miami was getting very close and that Stoudemire would ultimately end up in South Beach as a part of a deal in which Miami would send the expiring contract of Jermaine O'Neal to Phoenix in exchange for Stoudemire and possibly Leandro Barbosa.

As of last night there was no deal imminent with anyone, according to well-placed and informed sources, however in the fourth quarter versus the Mavericks, Stoudemire was benched for the entire fourth quarter.

JO is one of the Heat's defensive presence down low...and we all know amare is horrible on defense so i don't know.

i still think we're better than them either way

If they were to retain JO then this would be something to worry about. Fact was the Heat were causing us much more problems with JO on the floor than without him.

If they do that then they might as well go run and gun and give up on playing defense. Barbosa/Wade/Beasley/Stoudamire thats a pretty good running team.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

lateral move if anything. but on paper, it looks like a good move for miami. of course, it would suck if amare then bolted in the summer.

i would have to assume beasley is included in the deal unless pheonix is so desperate to dump barbosa's deal as well.

Meh....

I don't think that's the right move for them. Wade needs a sidekick that can create his own shot. The biggest problem with the Heat is that Wade is creating 100% of the time. It's either for himself, or for his teammates.

Amare is definitely not the answer.

if this is true, then what happens to Nash? Didn't he just sign an extension or something?

That would make for one less destination for Bosh, I suppose. Amar'e is good, but he ain't great... and this move doesn't make Miami much better than they already are.
