That trade makes zero sense for the Suns. If they want an expiring, they may as well just keep Amare for the rest of the year and try to make the playoffs.

So Phoenix's plan is to trade away all their talent for cap space in an attempt to lure who?

I think they'd be better off with the Nets trade. At least they'd be getting a boat load of young talent... maybe boat load is exaggerated a bit

Well Jermaine's contract expires after this season anyway, so if Amare bolted they would just have cap room like they would have had anyway, plus a pretty good player in Barbosa.

I was surprised when Amare sat so long last night. The Suns played good without him. The Suns are starting to look better in the youth department. Dragic, pony-tail, Clark, Big-hair, and Dudley all played well. They brought a lot of energy and allowed the old fellas some needed rest. Made me think the Suns might be on to something here. Perhaps a quick rebuild. If JO could stay healthy he would be a welcome presence in the middle.

Bosh is showing Amare this year that perhaps it's best to keep your trap shut and let the game do the talking.

good. If Amare goes to the Heat it basically rules Bosh out for them. Also the fact they give up JO is bigger than you think, hes the reason they are good defensively. Adding Amares awful defense would benefit us.

Barbosa
Wade
Richardson
Beasly
Amare

vs

Calderon
Derozan
Hedo
Bosh
Bargnani

it would be close honestly. The heat have the advantage but if Hedo can play like Hedo from yesterday then i think it would be a good match up.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

An Amare + Beasley frontcourt is going to dominate defensively.

While Amare is a good to great player..he will go the way of the Matrix without Nash. (just a good player) Just watching the game against Dallas yesterday convinced me again.

Amare gets 80% of his baskets on easy dunks and layps all delivered and wrapped in a bow from Nash.

This would be insufferably stupid deal for PHX, they'd be better to cut out Barbosa in a deal and get some assets back for Stoudemire at least.

But, Sarver, so you know.

It's a steal for MIA, even if an Amare/Beasley frontcourt is garbage defensively.

If he's playing with Wade it shouldn't be an issue

AND barbosa?? for some reason that pisses me off to infinity if Miami can get that much for just a massive expiring contract.

Wow I had no idea Amare Stoudamire was worth so little.

Or is it the expiring that's worth so much?

I have a feeling it's the former.

Huh? if anything that helps the pursuit of the 4th seed we play Miami once more. Miami plays Atlanta and Orlando twice more the stiffer competition should make it hard for either team to run away with the fourth seed.

It will be interesting to see how Amare plays without Nash...I think his stats will decline on another team.

If the deal is as written, I jsut don't get it from Phoenix point of view.

Is Barbosa's contract that bad?

I doubt this will actually go through.. Similar rumors popped up with Boozer and Odom.

The reason why the Suns would want to do this is that Amare might not opt out. He is due 18 mil next season. There is no way any team will pay him that.

If he doesn't opt out, then the Suns are screwed.

Amar'e w/out Nash is nothing.

Amar'e is already ONE OF the most overrated players in the NBA. Abominable on post D. A non factor on help D. Terrible rebounder. Awful hands. The guys gets his points from Nash's playmaking. That's it. I welcome ANY Eastern Conference team trading for Amar'e. Jermaine to Amar'e is a complete downgrade for Miami.

If Miami pulls the trigger on this, they'll slip in the conference standings.
