Murray sucks is a big issue here?

95 TS+ and part of a bottom 5 defense.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Well, the Hawks have the 8th worst defense in the NBA and the Jazz the 9th worst as of today, so I wouldn't put too much into that. I'm sure that playing alongside Trae and having to defend bigger guards has adversely affected Murray's defense with the Hawks.

Below are Murray's per game stats for his last season in SAS- where he was a full time PG, as he probably should be.
21.1 pts, 9.2 ast, 2.6 tov, 2.0 stl, 8.3 rb, .504 FG%, .327 3P%.

Broken down a bit more granularly:
Game Log Summary
MP
20-29: 3
30-39: 62
40+: 3

PTS
0-9: 3
10-19: 27
20-29: 30
30-39: 8

TRB
0-4: 5
5-9: 40
10-14: 23

AST
0-4: 6
5-9: 32
10-14: 28
15-19: 2

STL
0: 9
1-2: 33
3-4: 24
5+: 2

BLK
0: 48
1-2: 20

PF
0: 3
1-2: 42
3-4: 22
5: 1
68 Starts, 30 Wins, 38 Losses, 39 Double-Doubles, 13 Triple-Doubles

His 22,3 PER that year was the 4th best of all PGs and SGs. He was an All Star that year.

He was the go to guy on a bad team, but If he played anywhere near that with the Jazz, he would be a difference maker at a position of need, perhaps the best player on the team. He has been shooting the 3pt better this year (nearly 39%). His defense was good in SAS, bad with ATL, so not sure how that would translate to UTA.

The Jazz need to decide if they are going to take the longer route to rebuild, by tearing it down, or try to rebuild on the fly while also trying to compete with Markk. If I'm the Jazz, I don't want to lose Lauri.

^^
At an average salary of $28.5M/yr over the next 4 yrs of his contract, Murray is currently the 32nd highest paid guard and the 19th highest paid PG. A bargain if he returns to form, and not a bad salary given the current state of player salaries.
