Some more info:
Knox is 24 and on an expiring 1.8M deal.
Procida is 21 year old, 6-7 SF/SG from Italy. Sounds like a younger Fontecchio. He was the 36th overall pick in 2022.

It's a solid trade, you're right about that..

Can anyone clarify Fontecchio's free agency status? I've seen Woj and others say he'll be a RFA at the end of the season but in every site I look there is no indication of that and it looks like he'd be a UFA.

Also, the Celtics and Suns were interested in him as well.

Timberwolves 'Aggressive' In Trade Market, Looking For Ballhandler & Scorer Off Bench

"The Wolves are looking for another ballhandler and a shooter or scorer for the second unit."

We have a few of those, sounds like the Jazz and Wolves are natural partners.

Sportrac has him as a restricted free agent......

And who or what do the Wolves have to offer ?

Apparently 'veteran free agents who have been in the NBA for three seasons or less' automatically become restricted free agents.

Not sure. I don't see a lot of players who make sense. Maybe Leonard Miller? But I'm sure Ainge could find a way to fleece them. Maybe a third team would have to be involved.

Tillman to Boston - our chances of keeping Olynyk are increasing !

Capwise Olynyk to Boston was going to be hard regardless. I don’t think they were a realistic possibility. I think that Houston, Golden State and OKC are much more likely.

No way we deal with Houston or GS right now allowing them to get stronger

I don't love the trade on February 7, 2024. But if it does open up more minutes for Hendricks and if the Jazz believe he was not coming back in 24-25, I think this is good value.

Here’s a thought, we need a SF and a sniper, why not give Harris a go and pick him up off the waivers? New reclamation project, low risk, low cost

He's been dealing with a shoulder injury and it's really hurt his shooting. But it's the type of low-risk move that makes a lot of sense. The only thing I would do is hope he clears waivers and sign him for a multiyear deal, with the other years not being guaranteed. That way, if he returns to form at all, you can capitalize on this value. That is something I never understood about the THT move; there was no real way to capitalize on this value if he developed it; same with Kris Dunn; why didn't he have a few extra years unguaranteed on his deal? It's not like people were dying to give him a contract, and if his career rebounded like it did, you want to make sure you get the value from it.

Joe Harris is 32 years old. There isn't time for a reclamation project with him. Reclamation projects make sense with younger players.

Not sure whether to put this here or the season thread-
https://www.si.com/nba/jazz/news/utah-jazz-insider-trade-details-deadline-ainge

The Jazz could have been buyers, but it wouldn't have been DJMurray, but a better than starter but not star player, per Tony Jones. Let speculation run rampant on that one.

Interesting. It looks like Ainge is still his old self, playing for value over everything else. If he can get a player who would be a real upgrade he'd do it and if not, he's fine adding more draft picks.

I wonder who that player is. I'm guessing he's not a C or a PF. Wild guess: Miles Bridges.
