I don't think so. I see that there was a protected first round pick mentioned when that trade was done, but none of the sites I've looked at mention Philly having an outstanding pick from the Jazz. Anyone else know what happened to that pick?

No chance. Unless the Jazz trade this Knicks pick it belongs to the Jazz.

Yes, there is a chance....if the Knicks AND Jazz both pick up the pace, so that each pick is low enough to satisfy the provisions of the Jazz/Philly swap, then the Jazz will surrender the worse of the two picks. In other words, the Jazz have included an out to protect them in the event that the Knicks pick ends up worse than their own pick should both picks fail to meet the protection (in this case, top 16 for 2009) set forth in the deal. So, should the Knicks go crazy and finish 50-32 while the Jazz finish 48-34 and land pick #20 again while the NYK pick is #22, then the #22 pick would be conveyed to Minny through Philly and not the #20 pick.

Like I said, there is no chance.

^Right, so if the pick falls under certain protections...it goes to MINNESOTA. There is literally zero chance it goes to PHILADELPHIA unless it gets traded back there.

Philadelphia traded it to Minnesota along with Rodney Carney and Calvin Booth for nothing...they then used the resultant capspace to up their offer to Elton Brand. Sixersinsider has missed a step.

Exactly.

Oh, and no, there is not a single chance it goes to Philly. The technical possibility is that it could go to Minny. Not any chance whatsoever of it going to Philly.

So I'm always curious how draft boards change from month to month. At this moment what would you say your top five is. I emphasize your because I don't care about fits for the team at the moment. I used to do this for the Knicks board and watch how it changes through time and before and after the tournament.

The Suns game will either be very interesting or a blow out in MSG, either way I'll enjoy watching it. :-D

The Suns should slaughter them. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see them score 130+.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/features/worstteams

Extremely interesting article compiling the worst teams in NBA history and the starts that they've had. At first I thought this was an article on the worst starts of all time and showing how those teams ended up faring, but its really just a compilation of the worst teams and showing that starting badly was a common factor among all of them. For example, the 2003-04 Magic team that started 1-18 is not on this list because it "recovered' to win 20 games, iirc.

Food for thought.

very interesting article indeed. every season in the 90's contributed to a worst team (save the 94-95 season). funny cuz people usually think of the 90's as the best years of the nba with best caliber players along with their great personalities. but if it weren't for the 90's, this list would include teams with a lot better records.

even with those 90's teams, it looks pretty rare that more than one team in a single season can be added to this list. so far THIS season 3 teams are on pace.

Interesting to note, Gallo getting a lot of touches tonight. Could be coincidence or the fact that the team realizes he is our best player. If we keep this up, we will win more games than the pace we are on. Hughes getting the assist won't happen, but still Gallo highly involved.

If the Clippers can come from 20+ down to beat the Grizzlies, surely the Suns can overcome a 26-point deficit to beat the Knicks.

Honestly I don't think giving Gallo more touches will result in more wins, he is no Dirk...

If the lottery were held right now, the Jazz would have a 15.6% change of landing the top pick and a 60.5% chance of ending up with a top 3 pick.
