Yeah. Feels like a mix of smart and pat bev to me. Not really a point guard. Tough. Pesky. Long arms, gets in passing lanes.

The name most mentioned as a comparison is Jrue holiday but I’m not really seeing that. Seems to like to push the ball more as far as I can tell. More of a straight ahead athlete than Jrue.

What did I miss? Was there an interview?

The question feels little like a set up, honestly. You could sub that answer in for much of the league. 'I'm fine being in Sacto' 'I'm fine being in Milwaukee' 'I'm fine being in Utah, in Detroit, in Minnesota, in Cleveland' etc. C'mon man. No other market has to deal with these sorts questions that are implicitly premised on 'that place sucks.'

Jrue would be nice. That might be his best case ceiling with Pat Bev being a more likely best case.

Plus he’s 19. My dumb ass would have said the same thing at that age.

I'm not overly ecstatic about our draft so far (simply because i thought we had better options available),but if we could make a trade to grab either Leonard Miller or Tristan Vukčević, then i'd feel a lot happier.

I have been on Tristan Vukčevićs band wagon for a while. Might be a bust or could be the next joker I was really impressed with him at the combine. 7' that can light it up from three and good passing skills would go nicely with us.

Thinking of a demographically similar random city, let's say Louisville, KY. If you'd asked me, 'what do you think about Louisville' at age 19 I'm pretty sure 'where's louisville might have been my response.

I’m up for trayce Jackson Davis or Vukčevićs. Doubt either would make the team but I’d give ‘em a look.

Is there any part of this pick that makes one consider whether Lu's days here are numbered? Point of attack defender guy is his role.

I think his days were always numbered. Dort fills an important role in our defensive system as an aggressive POA defender but he was average off the ball and limited offensively. Wallace has much higher upside on both ends imo and can fill that POA role on defense. Wallace is also a much better ball handler, play maker and finisher at the rim, shot is also a lot better than Dort's coming out of college. I reckon we will send Dort out when the cap gets really tight. Wallace will lift our ceiling on both ends imo.

Watch these videos below to get an idea of OKC's defensive structure and how Cason will fit in as that POA.

Starting Lineup

Wallace
SGA
Giddey
Williams
Chet

I like this lineup a lot. Defensively we are going to be a force and rack up a lot of steals. We will be able to play a lot more aggressively defensively on the perimeter with Chet's elite shot blocking covering a lot of mistakes. I feel like we last season we were guilty of trying to defend aggressively but still over rotating because we had no interior defensive presence.

We do lack a forward with a bit of size to defend guys like KD, Giannis, Ingram, Siakam, Randle, Towns etc. I guess Ousmane could be that guy if he fills out a bit. Giddey has the frame and height to defend bigger guys but lacks the length and mobility imo. It also wouldn't hurt to grab a backup big with a bit of size just to give ourselves some different looking lineups in certain situations. I know a traditional big doesn't suit our system but it won't hurt to have one on hand if we need to go big.

Offensively I like the balance, the only slight I have is that we do lack true outside shooting. I think Jalen and Chet have potential to develop into decent outside threats, SGA has shown flashes but seems to prefer the inside game, Cason could be a decent C&S guy, still sceptical about Giddey.

As much as I like Giddey, I do think we would benefit from having a 3&D forward in his place to balance the lineup. If Mikal Bridges was available for a package of Giddey and picks I would do it in a heartbeat.

Bit of a rant but yeah, pretty happy with the pick and how the roster is shaping up.

Any agent that let his client skip workouts to be the 50th pick with our roster should be fired.

Keyontae is a first round talent but he might die during a game.

Great pick.
Cason is the guy that will help us from the start.

Sometimes we forget that Dort can defend big wings very well. OKC can play SGA, Wallace, Dort, J-Dub and Chet lineup without any problem. They are probably your 5 best defenders. Imagine energy from that lineup, incredible.

After 23/24 season we will see what will happen. Maybe Dort and picks are gone for great PF, but maybe he and Cason can be on the same roster and compliment each other.

I was a lit bit surprised by the the choice of Presti took last night (because it is a guard). But meanwhile I see a lot of sense in this pick and we are more flexible on the defensive end and we depend meaner on Dort's performance (who too often destroys our offensive game) Also to get more Basketball IQ as we already have is a pleasure . On the videos he makes me thinking on Jimmy Bucket a lot.
Only drawback is Bertans and his salary. Ok you can use him in critical moments with his 3, but no idea if he is a good locker room guy.

Don't forget the "addition" of Chet . So him and Cason makes us much more stronger.

We also can better get rid of Lu in the future.
