Re: Around the NBA 2022-2023
I’m just about wore out with the NBA. Embiid sitting out in the marquis game is just another example of how poorly they serve the fans. I can’t listen to the radio broadcast on iHeart radio because I’m too far away. I can’t watch the games on league pass because I live too close. Ive seen multiple carriers drop Bally sports such as Sling and Hulu. It’s really unbelievable.

I read today that they are after CP3, Dillon Brooks; Austin Reaves, Brook Lopez and Cam Johnson. Small list.
I hope it's true and Harden joins them though. They gotta trade young players if they get Harden + a couple of established players.

Glad we don't have the heavily protected Wizards pick anymore.
Winger starting his job in Washington...I'm just pissed he probably knows who OKC likes in this draft.

Guess the ex okc front office guys got the memo from Sam to keep a good relationship with players and to get pick swaps but missed that you are to get an ounce of value back. Yeesh. What a god awful trade.

giving a no trade clause to a player you don't even need was the main mistake (having Beal in such a bad team was a bad idea from day 1, u can still want him but u don't need to offer that NTC). Then probably the new CBA rules lowered Beal's trade value big time.
I still expected the Wizards to get a bit more so yeah that's awful. I guess they bet that they can turn CP3 and a bit of free cap space into more assets.

not better than Westbrook staying. Yeah CP3 is old but he can still help role players a lot if Kawhi/PG13 are out. At this point I'm just more optimisitc about the 2025 swap and 2026 FRP than next year's LAC FRP.

Very good chance the LAC pick goes to Denver next season.Dadouv47 wrote:

Depends what are they sending as salary matching . That’s 3 injury prone players on high salary.

Marc Stein willing to let us dream. Don't think a team would offer what LAC might want for PG13 though

It’s so damn hard to make a trade work with those huge contracts work. It makes sense to send him to Portland, but it can’t work without sending simmons and nurkic (and presumably 3) and then the team is left with PG, Lillard, sharpe, and grant (if he resigns). No bigs left.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the clippers pick was #1 or #25 next year.

These teams like the clippers are in such tough spots. I think we’re going to see some teams reign in trading a huge haul of picks unless there are getting a player like Luka in his prime. Phoenix could be in a much worse spot if KD continues to break down. The new cba doesn’t do anyone like them any favors either.

Thought Balmer had unlimited money. Also can't see him giving up with the new arena. They will likely make some drastic moves but I think it will be in a couple of seasons.

Really hope this becomes the new normal and the nba quits making their product so hard to watch.

They have massive decisions to make next summer and floating PG out there is an indication of where they are leaning. For me, they are like the Heat. They aren't going to tank. They just can't afford to let Kawhi and/or PG walk for nothing and they aren't keen on giving them huge extensions. I wish they'd blow it up, but that won't happen.

Eww, I hate that for us. Brogdon drags you to mediocrity.
On the other hand, he’s averaged 57 games a year over the course of his career and his uptick in efficiency came in a bench role last year. Pretty annoying that they’ve gotten norm Powell and brogdon for nothing the past 2 years.

I’m encouraged that the clippers whiffed on cp3 and brogdon. If they stayed mildly healthy they would be good additions. If they whiff on Russ too (bulls should go after him w/ MLE if they don’t rebuild), I think they’re in big trouble.
