Canoeing races at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London are scheduled to be held from 29 July to 2 August (slalom) and from 6-11 August (sprint). The slalom events will be held at Lee Valley White Water Centre and the sprint events at Eton Dorney. Total of 330 athletes are expected to take part. The men’s 500 metre races will be replaced by 200m. In addition, men’s C2 500m will be replaced by women’s K1 200m. This was confirmed at a 2009 International Canoe Federation Board of Directors Meeting at Windsor, Berkshire on 5 December 2009. For the first time, women will have two individual events in sprint canoeing. Because of the event changes, the finals will now be spread over a three day period instead of the two-day finals which had been in effect since the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

I really like the Slalom course this year.

I think it's set up a lot better than in China. Way less white water around the edges where the guys can work up stream.
