Overall a much better effort on both ends of the floor. The ball is being shared and moved faster and defensively, we're more active with our hands while also rotating a lot better. But we still have a tendency to take our foot off the gas and our transition defense in particular is still atrocious.

This lineup of Lowry-Butler-DeRozan-Klay-Jordan is also rather offensively inept with Klay not hitting anything.

Serbia is not a modern team, they play like its euro ball, don't play fast enough, don't run home fast enough, don't play Jokic enough which is typical euro stupid authoritarian bs, where young guys need to slowly earn their due.

They'll lose by less if they don't try to speed the game up. That's what USA is best at.

It's not the 'pace' it's the movements. They are arrogant, think they can stand around slowly dribble, slowly change direction, slowly guard, slowly pass. They should act as if they are juniors facing seniors. Simple things, quick movement.

Sometimes I wonder if Marv is actually watching the game.

Serbia is constantly pushing the ball because they notice how poor our transition defense is.

Lack of ball movement and flow will hurt the USA sooner rather than later.

No, it won't. They're so physically superior they'll just force the other team into turnovers whenever they want.

We started off much improved in that area, hence pulled away, but once we have a decent lead we revert to old habits. Similarly on defense. Serbia is on the line on almost every possession now because we're late on everything.

When I look at USA and being 'Dream Team', it is not enough to win, they should win on the number of basketball players alone. They have millions and millions more players than any other country. I look at which players really stand out, who really shows great skill beyond anything the Euro can do. I don't see it with these US players. They have speed, size, but no fundamentals.

The likes of Kyrie, KD etc. are some of the most fundamentally sound playsers. Their shooting form, their footwork, their passes, their ball handling, they have all the basics down. It is a lack of discipline that is hurting this team, nothing else.

And this team is supposed to be defensive minded? They will lose this game if they continue like this. Picked apart on D, and forcing bad shots on offense.

Yes it will, teams are beginning to adjust. USA will still win most likely but they're developing bad habits and taking some bad shots. There's usually a guy on the floor at all times that goes 6-7 possessions without touching the ball, today its Melo in the 1st unit, 2nd unit it was DeMar.

Ironically they have 14 assists on 15 FGM. But watching the game its noticeable they lack consistent ball movement.
