I have too much going on right now to watch, but thank you for the link!

Who got the start for the US?

The starting line up was

Lowry
Derozan
George
Melo
Jordan

55 29 at the halftime

Sounds about what I expected.

I haven't put much thought towards this team yet, but it occurs to me that a guy like Jordan could be someone who does well under international rules.

With only 29 points in the first half I probably don't have to ask this, but has Zhou Qi shown anything in this game?

He made a turn-around jumper, but for the most part he's being outclassed, which was expected. The potential is there though, he moves well for a 7'2" guy and has other skills set. I posted in the Lakers forum that I think he needs at least 1 season in the D-League. The CBA simply doesn't prepare these guys for NBA competition. The speed, length, and strength is far too much for the Chinese team. They are struggling just to make their jumpers.

His current stats are 2 points, 1 reb, 1 assist, 3 fouls, and 3 tos.

We'll see if he plays better at the Olympics

Thanks!

I don't know when the Rockets are bringing him over, but I'm sure that he'll spend time in McAllen like they do with most of their rookies.

Capela spent basically his entire rookie season down there and it seemed to work out well for him. He walked into that Rockets playoff team ready to play!

Looking over that box score at how they are spreading the minutes. That team will be able to throw fresh bodies against any team they play for the entire game.

KD gets tired? Put in Melo. Melo gets tired? Put in Klay. And repeat that over and over again.

I like this roster.

Better than expected crowd in LA tonight. The crowd in Vegas was terrible compared to tonight's. There was even a USA chant tonight.

It was interesting how Staples Center was presented like a Clippers home game instead of a Lakers home game. Clippers ads were on the jumbotron and the music and effects seemed to be all the ones the Clippers use.

Highlight of the night was Coach K getting in the face of a Chinese player after he knocked Lowry down and started to run away. Coack K told him to help Lowry up, which he did.

Oracle should be bumpin on Tuesday as KD, Klay, and Draymond will all be starting.

This thread made 2 pages! :rofl2:

Not having this in the general forum is ridiculous. It's the only basketball happening and we can't even talk about because half of the posters probably don't even know about it.

Careful, you might get banned for a day.

There's always the feedback forum where you can suggest something that Mr. Moderator Guy has already said is "not happening."

Game 2's 9:00 CST start time may be too late for me after this day.

I'm expecting the same result, I'm just curious if they'll stick with the same starting lineup.

Thanks for posting the links! I just tried to see if the game was still going on, and it appears to be halftime.

I do know that the first thing that I have to do when clicking on a YouTube channel is to hide the chat window to the side. Most of those comments are utterly despicable.

It's so hard to try to take anything from this game because China is just so out-classed by the USA roster.

All too often while watching Team USA vs. whomever in Men's Basketball I find myself pulling for the other team. Does that make me a bad American?

I know that the NBA contingent is going to win this one without trying too hard, so why not see what the other team has?

Granted, I feel this way tonight. Probably won't against the likes of Spain or other teams.

I know its due to their lack of size on the other side, but Cousins has been the best player for USA so far. Just dominating.

I was going to point out that historically, Mr. E's threads usually result in a loss, (at least where Houston is concerned.) However, USA vs China is going to be a blowout of epic proportions, so no one should be worried about a loss here.

This is very true. I do carry the game thread curse.
