Is it racist that team USA basketball has no whites?

I do honestly think it is rather racist that there are no white players on the team USA basketball team. Particlarly when we've seen how poorly they are playing. Why isn't Hayward, Parsons, Love, Kyle Korver, one of the Plumlee's, on the team?

This isn't a game of pick the most athletic, it's a game of pick the most suited to win an olympic tournament and those guys above are a perfect fit for the game.

I think black basketball culture as a general perception definitely is more focused on athleticism and one on one play.

Hayward and Love turned it down cause of Zika and rest I believe. Parsons is coming off surgery. Korver had a bad season last year. Team probably has enough Cs already to not take Plumlee. Redick probably is the best choice instead of Barnes or just taking Korver

Hayward and Love turned the team down. Both of them would be very useful at the moment and are legit stars, but you cant force someone to play.
Parsons was injured or had surgery ?
Who else is there who could be there ? Korver and Redick could have been in Rio as role players looking at things from FIBA perspective.

The selectors are mostly white. If black guys dominated the sport and all white guys were chosen to represent Team USA then yes that would be racist.

But if white people like in Croatia and Serbia dominate the game in those countries and so get selected, it's not racist at all.

I believe it's actually the opposite
it would be racist if you forced players of a specific race into a team because you must keep some sort of a ratio.
the non racist thing is to put the best players on a team regardless of their race.

I find that token representation of a race in a team is a *very* racist thing to do. You are effectively acknowledging that you are not being objective and you are validating racial discrimination.

PS I'm white. These guys are good. No two ways about it.
