I vote Nay to FAAB. would we still have max moves every week? max daily moves? 100 dollar FAAB budget?

I'm OK with it it either way...if that really means anything. So I guess it's a "Yay" from me.

I vote nay for FAAB. We should encourage being active in this league and that includes following games live, making moves on the fly, and not limiting transactions so much. If we have $100 to spend for the entire season someone could blow through that in the first month. Contrary to what was said earlier this could actually limit the amount of strategizing, particularly at the end of the season, when strategizing is most important. I say leave it the way it is, and has always been, you snooze you lose.

My second round pick is out for six months. Don't think I'm going to the playoffs this season...

Cap brings up a good point about FAAB. what about playoffs? Hopefully no loser bracket this year. If a guy finishes 7 on the year I am all for giving him the title of best team that failed to make playoffs. At least now u can DL Middleton and bid for his replacement apparently.

In that case, bring on FAAB!

Are bids public? Getting a few bid alerts rewards those that barely pay attention. Also, what is the time frame for bidding... you mention daily? Whatever that deadline is, there would still be an advantage to be had there?

I assume it would be silent bidding and the winner gets revealed ahead of the next night's games? With winning bids are revealed and remaining budget adjusted accordingly. Someone can confirm.

Bidding is silent and winner is revealed same as when you make a waiver bid based on priority without FAAB. It's really not that different from how waiver pickups work, with the only difference being allotting a $ amount for each bid.

If we have concerns regarding people blowing through their budgets too early, we can always increase the FAAB budget. Most leagues we've done this in did just fine with $100 as you'll have many adds where you only bid $0 or $1 when you know that no one else wants the player or the pick up is just not important.

League schedule is set.
"I don't step aside, I step up." - Vic Mackey
"My name is my name" - Marlo Stanfield
"If you come at the king, you best not miss" - Omar Little

But whoever reads the bids, will have an advantage?

Not trying to be a pain... but I'm still leaning towards keeping things as is. If the alternate system has holes, I'd rather keep this first-come, first-serve, since news/injuries happen at any hour of the day.

No one reads the bids...it's done through Yahoo. No one knows what the other managers are bidding at any time.

The losing bids are only revealed after the player is picked up much like the auction system on eBay. I'm ok with either the rolling system or FAAB.

Good with FAAB here.

-----

And just doing my own research out loud, but it appears that in the league settings, it would be changed to:
Continuous Waivers -> Processed Daily -> Waiver Priority Tiebreak FAAB w/ Continual Rolling List

Any player dropped would still be on waivers for two full days (aside from same-day add/drops).

And I believe we'd also want to set Roster Changes to Daily -> Today. That way you get the player on your roster for that day once waivers clear at ~3am ET. It will essentially mimic Daily -> Tomorrow in function since claims will always be set sometime during that previous day.

For what it's worth, one league we did this in used the settings as you've described.
