Much obliged if you could just roll with what you were pm'ed. A couple posts up, Owly compiled everything we have from what people posted on this thread about their teams as well. We will just have to make do with that. Thanks for all the help you can provide.

Some good looking teams.

Not to spread early bias, but the teams that look really good to me (aside from my own, which I think is stellar :); and this is just based on scrutiny of the rosters, I haven't read all the write-ups) are Jaivl's and lilroddyb's. Those teams look nicely balanced, strong everywhere, little redundancy; just really excellent. But again, pretty much every team looks awesome.

EDIT: Quotatious, thizznation, and Dr. Spaceman look to have pretty strong teams, too, imo.

Whenever matchups are done, what is the next step? Is voting done via pm, do write-ups only get done once, and then the other people debate merits, etc?

ok, Seeding. I can provide short explanations if desire but understand my biases . . . I love defense, efficiency, team play and leadership, star level talent, and spacing . . . roughly in that order. In this level of talent, good role players would tend to disappear but then again, guys who need to be the man but who aren't particularly good at it would be a minus.

As such, there were 5 teams that impressed me as having no problems and good fits, they are my top 5 seeds (not necessarily able to beat a lower seed head to head though; that's much more about matchups at this level of talent). Sure wouldn't want to bet on the difference between any of them though.

1. Trex
2. RevisIsland
3. Quotatious
4. Jeep
5. Jaivl

The others are even tighter (now I remember why head to head is the only way to do these!)
6.Owly
7.RSCD3_
8.poopdamoop
9.Warspite
10. lilroddy
11.Skyhook
12.ThizzNation
13.HeartbreakKidd

Three teams have issues for me and I don't see them winning more than 1 round. I will mention the issues briefly so the GMs can work around them or address them.

14.Dr. Spaceman (Rodman and Iggy can't cover 4 guys and Karl has had issues)
15. giordunk (Serious issues of needing the ball, Iverson not good off bench)
16. parsnips (Need Phil Jackson, but got Jerry Sloan?)

GOOD LUCK!

If it goes the way most of these go, you should start a Head to Head thread (one for each matchup) where each of you explain why you are going to make the other cry like a little girl. Headline them with the matchup and the league name (or an abbreviation). Then the other players can come in and vote (and give an explanation why if desired). Not my show but if you don't want to wait for the league founder, just start and he can come and correct if desired.

1. Trex v. 16. parsnips
2. RevisIsland v. 15. giordunk
3. Quotatious v. 14. Dr. Spaceman
4. Jeep v. 13. HeartbreakKidd

5. Jaivl v. 12. ThizzNation
6.Owly v. 11. Skyhook
7.RSCD3_v. 10. lilroddy
8.poopdamoop v. 9. Warspite

Question: When we get to the match-ups, are we opening the voting to the general public, or only the 16 of us?

EDIT: Oh, and I think we ought to just take the initiative and start the match-up vote threads ourselves instead of waiting on the league's author.

How do match ups work? Do we each do a post, and then get one rebuttal? Does the home-court advantage mean you get to go second? I'm assuming that after the initial posts, the actual posters involved leave the convo to let everyone else discuss and vote?

That sounds about right to me.
And should we set a time-limit for how long the vote is open?
Also: just we 16 people voting?

I'm open to others, though I think I'd like to limit it to involved members of the player comparison board if we do. Just throwing it open to the general board seems like it could be counterproductive.

Ok, so I think we need to move towards hard deadlines for everything. Write-ups, voting, etc. If someone doesn't do write-ups, you'll just have to vote and imagine the coach got suspended for the game. Can we move towards something like Wednesday 8 PM for the lower seed write-ups, Thursday 8 PM for the higher seed response, Friday 12 PM/8 PM for both rebuttals, and then Sunday 8 PM for final votes? Then rinse and repeat. Just examples, times can change. At this point we might be looking at next week as the start, but maybe not.
