Money League – Official Rules
First off, all rules are subject to change pending unforeseen circumstances. In the past, situations have arisen causing me to rethink how certain rules are interpreted so as to avoid potentially unfair advantages to certain teams. Accordingly, I’ve made mid-course corrections to remedy situations that could potentially tip the balance of fairness for the league. So don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
League Rules:
This will be a standard category Yahoo fantasy basketball league. The 9 categories are: FG%, FT%, Threes, Pts, Rbds, Asts, Stls, Blks and TOs.
The teams will have 13 players each. The rosters will have the following positions to fill:
PG
SG
G
G
PF
SF
F
F
C
C
Bench
Bench
Bench
The rosters will be updated daily. The trade deadline will be the last available deadline Yahoo permits. There will be no limit to adds and drops, nor will there be any waiver period.
Trades during the season will be subject to league vote. In order to trigger a vote, at least 4 players (not including those involved with the trade) must express a desire to submit the trade to a vote. I will open up a 24 hour window for league voting. It will require the vote of 6 managers to veto any trade (not including myself or the managers involved in the trade). So, it takes 6 of 11 to veto. The number it takes to veto is subject to change pending league activity levels. I will have final authority on all vetoes. Typically, that just means I’ll automatically veto a trade if I feel there is sufficient evidence of collusion or cheating.
Injured Reserve
The IR will operate as it did last year. Every team can keep up to 2 players on the IR. A player may only be placed on the IR is that player has missed 5 consecutive games will sitting on your roster. In order to move a player to the IR, wait until the player has missed the 5th game, then drop the player and post on the yahoo board that you are dropping that player to the IR. Then, update the current list of all IR players by including your player. I will not be dropping your players for you, or protecting your players on the waiver wire. It is your job to protect your own players by making sure no one else picks them up. Please let me know if someone else picks up one of your protected players. You may pick up your IR player(s) at any time, but they can only be put back on IR after an additional 5 missed games.
Please police yourselves on this, as I simply won't have the time to always be checking to make sure the right players are protected. Also, once your player begins playing again, you are not obligated to pick him up off the IR, but I will lock your ability to make add/drops until you claim your player. This is only fair as the IR isn't supposed to add the total number of players available to you at anyone time, but to ensure your injured players don't cost you a roster spot.
If I’ve left something out, of if there are rule modifications, I will post the changes at the top of this post in red, so please check back to see if I’ve made any changes.
Thanks, and good luck.
