I hope it's nothing related to his heart troubles. It's a little worrying because he appeared to be ok physically after his last match and it's something serious enough to prevent him from giving it a go in the round of 16 at a Grand Slam event.

I dunno, Djoker has screwed it up in crucial moments.. i guess its between Federer and Murray.. Del Potro is my dark horse..

on women side, its between Sammy Stosur and Serena..

Djokovic is still the favourite imo. He's been destroying everyone and his side of the draw is fairly easy. Maybe Del Potro can challenge him.

UGA Hayes wrote:Thanks for the kind words. I will miss all three of them. Clijsters was always a very likable player and I'm glad that she finally won a few slams, although insome respects I think she was a bit lucky by how cursed the rest of the women's top players become in the sense that it seems like ever since Monica Seles was stabbed all the top players have been unable to stay on the court. From Hingis feet problem, to Capriati's drug use, to Henin retiring for no reason, to the Williams sisters apathy, and more we kind of missed out on what should have been sort of a golden era of womens tennis, which instead was and is now anthing but.

Oh Roddick, I was always a fan. Yes he is awkward, ascerbic, who could have shown more class/poise from time to time, but I did like that he tried pretty hard to raise the profile of mens tennis, something I feel tennis players aren't nearly active enough in doing. PArt of it is that the tour administrators at times make Baseball look progressive, but part of it is that the players get so rich so fast, they don't bother. On Roddick, it was pretty jarring to realize that an American Male hasn't won since 2003, when he won and you have to feel bad for him in the since that he probably played a few of his best matches ever in GS finals especially against Roger, and Roger at times pulled so much out of his ass it seems kind of unfair. The other thing I like about Roddick which you can say about very few players is that he didn't really tank matches, pretty much always giveing all out effort. I think its a testament ot his ethiic that he did so well since he has some serious holes in his game.

I hear you on the lack of high-class talent in the women's game during Kimmy's run during her second run. She was not playing the type of competition she was during her first run. I do think that is something to be considered. I would also consider the situation in which she came back from. It's a tough balance. In the end, I'm going to really miss watching her play. I hope she gets involved in tennis again down the road. She is such a great personality.

I never liked Roddick too much. To be frank I found him to be a douche quite often. I did appreciate though, as you mention, his desire and dedication to the game. I also can appreciate - to an extent - his honesty, candidness, and humor in general. In many ways they are the same qualities as his friend Serena. There seemed to be a fine line he crossed too often for me, though. Regardless, he was a great player who would have found more success in virtually any era other than the one we've seen the past decade. That is not to assign him titles he did not win, but he had some tall orders - namely, of course, Federer. I obviously appreciate that he was the continuation of American tennis after the Sampras/Agassi era, and I will be cheering for him to win this tournament. I'm going to be saddened by him leaving more than I would have guessed.

That said, I am feeling better than expected about the future of American tennis. I don't think there's a Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, or Serena on the horizon, but Sock, Harrison, Johnson, Stephens, and McHale have me feeling like we could see some pretty good players emerge. I like this group better than the Querry, Isner group. I feel best about Stephens. She's loaded with potential.

I'm going to go with Murray and Serena. Murray's confidence is at an all time high and this just seems like one of those tournaments that Serena just walks through. What a force that woman is.

Serena and Novak although I'd be pleasantly surprised if Roger pulls it off.
I just hope the screamers don't win on the women's side.

Love him or hate him, Andy was great for the sport because he always tried his best and brought an engaging if sometimes controversial personality. He'll be great on air - he knows he's been acerbic at times and can have a laugh about it. Kind of like a Mac in the making. Best of luck to him in the next phase of his life. Thanks for the awesome tennis moments, Andy :)

Too lazy to look it up, but what's Murray's head-to-head with Nole?

8-6 Djokovic. 6-5 on hardcourts for Djokovic.

Absurd match between Ferrer and Tipsarevic.

I hope I wasn't the only one glued to my TV all afternoon.

Man what a missed opportunity for Fed. Soo disappointing... This one and the final he lost to Del Potro rank high as two potential Majors lost.

I'd love for Murray to pull through and win it now.

IDK what it is, but Tipsarevic seems to always be in the best matches.

After a few down months, I think Joker's back at his 2011 level. No one can beat him when he's playing like this. There's nothing better to watch in the game than a grind it out, defensive point from Djokovic.

+1,000,000

Why in the hell would they not play both the matches at once if they knew severe whether was coming? Mind-boggling
