Federer is on the decline. Andy Murray is up 1-0 and leading in the 2nd set.

I bet England would riot if Murray won Wimbledon this year.

All good things must end...but it's not fun to watch them do so.

Who followed results lately probably have seen how good Tsonga can perform right now, he's at the top of his shape. The thing I like the most in his game is his passion for it, he tries so hard and really enjoys what he does the most. :)

(They would be interesting, but unfortunately I foresee Djokovic winning this Wimbledon anyway. We might see a similar scenario next year, but in reverse, when Djokovic has to defend 43 wins in a row)

Me too. She's almost been dominant lately. I wish they would stop showing Vujacic though
(and I'm a Nets fan).

Here's to Murray winning tomorrow.

Sharapova has yet to drop a set in this tourney. She definitely needs to hoist that trophy.

Sharapova was hyped for a long time but has only won a few grand slams (two?). I'm neutral on who I want to win between her and Kvitova.

Hopefully Murray wins tomorrow.

BULLZ1LLA wrote:(I hope it happens, just for fun, because Rafa would have won 5 of the last 6 slams, made 8 Finals in 2011 and won 2 slam titles and 4 titles, also 6-0 h2h in slams vs Djokovic. So for those reasons, just to make a mockery of the ranking system [similar to Wozniacki], it would be cool. Plus I think Rafa would beat Djokovic in straight sets in the Final. Tsonga is the real danger)

-There's no doubt that the algorithmic ranking system is not weighted the same as how fans weigh tournaments. That does correctly reduce the system's credibility with regard to being the one way to determine the best player on the planet, but an algorithmic system is necessary and it's really impossible to make something foolproof.

-Djokovic's #1 ranking isn't happening randomly. He's basically begun the year at the GOAT level, winning with frankly greater ease than Nadal has ever come close to doing. Nadal supporters tend ignore this, but it's actually pretty stunning:

Nadal has never managed to lose less than 10 times in a season. This puts his domination well below McEnroe, Federer, Connors, Borg, Lendl.

If Nadal wins Wimbledon, I'll be right there with you still calling Nadal the best in the game.

However, if Djokovic wins, he will clearly deserve the #1 and be rightfully said to be having a better season better than Nadal has ever had.

Well Murray showed up for the first set... but he looked lost in the second and he hasn't improved much in the third. It's a little disheartening to see him lose the swagger that was present in the first set, and you can't afford a collapse against Nadal of all players. Still, he's not out of it yet and he's only a break down in the third set.

Make that two breaks down. Wow, Nadal is playing some magnificent points. There's not a lot Murray can do.
