Kyrie Irving Denver Trade

Post#1 » by PhillyFan25 » Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:44 am

Lets say the Kyrie-Isaiah trade is voided. Where would Kyrie go? Here is a possible (probably unrealistic trade) for Denver.

Cavs Trade:
Kyrie Irving
Iman Shumpert

Denver Trade:
Nikola Jokic
Emmanuel Mudiay
Kenneth Faried
Will Barton
Possibly a 1st Round Pick

Why this works for the Cavs:
Cavs trade away two players who both requested a trade, if they stay it could ruin chemistry. By obtaining Nikola Jokic, it greatly improves their starting lineup, as well as their bench by adding depth moving Tristan Thompson there. Nikola Jokic also adds a young, future star which is what the Cavs need. Emmanuel Mudiay fills in as a young point guard who could develop into a solid player, possibly better. Kenneth Faried improves their bench even more, and fills in that empty back up power forward spot as Channing Frye plays a lot of center, so they need a solid PF to stay there. Will Barton adds even more fire power off the bench. Depending how Jr Smith plays, Will Barton can easily slide into the starting role and play well. The Cavs would most likely ask for a pick, so the Nuggets can throw in a 1st Rounder.

Why this works for the Nuggets:
Besides the fact they are trading away four valuable players, they get Kyrie Irving who is an important asset to their team. For Denver to push for the playoffs they needed a guard who could lead the team, which is what Kyrie wants to do. With the help of veteran Paul Millsap, the Nuggets can complete the push to the playoffs. Iman Shumpert fills in for Will Barton. Obtaining Kyrie and having Paul Millsap can begin to grow the market in Denver and help it target better players in free agency. If Denver can make a splash with Kyrie and Millsap, they can target an all-star level center or small forward, they can become a serious threat in the west. They also have young assets in Jamal Murray, Trey Lyles and Juan Hernangomez who can all develop into solid players for Denver's future.
