Well, I am live from Baghdad! I am working the night shift so that I can witness this draft live!

Since the Heat deal is dead, has anyone else heard anything about potential deals involving Mike Miller, Kyle Lowery, and/or Hakim Warrick???

Also, why are Westbrook and Gallinari being considered? Westbrook is a combo guard that CAN'T shoot! I love his defense, but we already have three point guards that can't shoot! As for Gallinari, he duplicates Rudy Gay's game...It just doesn't make sense to me. With that said, it sounds like Love is getting some late...love from the talking heads on ESPN. I am a huge fan, and he feels SO many needs for the Grizzlies...defense, hustle, rebounding, and heart!

Any credence to the #5 and BC to Charlotte for #9 and #20?!? I like this deal A LOT! We shed BC's atrocious contract, and we get the #9 AND #20!!! Sign me up...

that would be a great deal, but to keep our cap # low i assume we would only want expirings, so this deal works.

Trade ID #4685761

Othella Harrington
6-9 PF from Georgetown
No games yet played in 2007/08
Sean May
6-9 PF from North Carolina
No games yet played in 2007/08
Jermareo Davidson
6-10 PF from Alabama
No games yet played in 2007/08
#9
#20

FOR

Brian Cardinal
6-8 SF / PF from Purdue
No games yet played in 2007/08
#5

Based on a popular draft thread, we could still draft

#9 Kevin Love or Brook Lopez which ever CHA doesn't pick
#20 CDR
#28 JJ Hickson

that would be a successful draft for once

Just reported that Chicago will take Rose. Not earth shattering, but it was just reported on ESPN nonetheless.

The Heat wanted Gay, Conley Jr., and the No. 5 pick?!? Wow...Chris Wallace should have slapped Riley for asking for that deal!

That was the dumbest thing I've heard... Was Miami sending Wade back in that trade? :)

anyway... the Charlotte deal was #5 for anybody on their roster. Grizz said no thanks!

at #5

We select Kevin Love.

I love this pick. He's the best avaiable player that fits our needs. This gives us a very solid core. He has a severe lack of speed which doesn't fit our running system but, he gives us a solid rebounder with the ability to through the outlet pass and trigger the wings to run.

Based on our needs you gotta love this pick.

Love was my second option for the Grizz to pick. His rebounding is solid for someone at his position. His passing game can be something the Grizzlies can benefit from. His offense although pretty good, can it blend into the run and gun game? Also like boogie stated, speed is a concern. Another concern I have is will his lack of athleticism and weight become issues.

It's doesn't matter. Caron Butler dropped in 2002 and Wade was underestimated in the 2003 draft. Look how they turned out. The draft is always a hit and miss. In the case of Indy and NJ, both teams got what they wanted. Hopefully things will workout for them and the picks they drafted tonight.

POR has ROY, Webster and a slew of SF's

Rush doesn't make a ton of since.

They need a PG, their must be a trade coming.

I fear it might be us.

With Jason Thompson, I feel he was drafted a bit high here considering that his drafting area was around the lower first round.

With Jordan, I believe he will fall no more than #15 to the Suns. As for Randolph, I can see him at either Washington, Philly, or Houston

Herrington also mentioned Conley for #13 and Outlaw.

I don't like that... the Grizz would end up with 3 SF's behind Gay.

Well, I was wrong. Randolph went to the Warriors. Which means that Brandan Wright may be on the trade block.
