Boy it would be great if I could say it was all part of some master plan.
I just wanted LeBron and AD.

I think the best core for Kawhi was actually the Spurs core, notably the 2017 season, with the caveat that Danny Green was available.

Can't agree with that if you give the Raptors Green as well

Yeah, I'm not seeing a fourth guy worth 30 mpg (not to mention I wouldn't be wild about picking Aldridge).

You only have to play 3 guys 30mpg ftr

Thanks, I missed that. I was wondering about a couple of the cores that were taken.

I've forgotten about Raptors core. Maybe because of the removal of the two seasons rule, even though I used it (maybe unintentionally lol) when picking Posey.

Adding Ray Allen to a Pierce Garnett core is a bit of a boring build but whatever lol

I think I'm screwing up by taking my core first. The best wild cards are all plundered before it gets back to me.

Lebron and Davis with two 3 and D guys is worth it

Wanted to do something a little more fun with my pick, but couldn't resist Jokic staring right at me

This core got hurt by Colbinii and Fade, but Denver's deepness was still pretty good so that useful enough players were available

Definitely 100 percent a personal taste choice here. Goals 2-fold: lock down a first option early on and maintain future flexibility both from a FGA and a team construction standpoint. Dirk has 3 strong defensive players with him in the core who can all serve either as starters or high minute subs.
There were other cores considered but I had no desire to build a mirror of any team we saw in a prior game.

I debated internally Denver core with my first pick, but, to me, Milwaukee has as close an impact player to Jokic as there is, with 3 impactful players to take with him.
Blake is a DPOY level bigman, Jrue is an all defense 3point shooter, and Middleton is a very solid piece and all are frequently drafted.
Made sense for me.

36 minutes “feels” a bit high given the likely depth of these teams and the fact that not all starters in real life play that much. I’d advocate the minimum be 30 personally.
The idea is at least 3 viable starters, not three stars in the core.
Fair enough, I changed it to 30 minutes.

FWIW, I’d have taken Jokic (with Jamal, KCP, and Gordon) with the very first pick.
Lebron/AD might be better but I’d have preferred it. That core was severely damaged by the loss of its backcourt.
