In Wittman's 4 years here, the team ranked 5th, 8th, 5th and 14th in the league defensively. He was honestly the only coach to get the team to buckle down and play like a professional franchise.

They went to the 2nd round two years in a row, and in the 2nd year, they should have made it to the ECF's if not for Wall breaking his hand.

It started falling off in Wittman's final year. They went 41-41 despite pretty good health except for Beal missing 27 games. I think they started tuning Wittman out. So ultimately, I don't mind the decision to move off of Wittman. Brooks took the same team (minus Nene) to 49 wins and a 7-game 2nd round loss to Boston in the following season. After that, Gortat started to decline, Wall got hurt, and that was it.

Tristan is a good player offensively, even defensively in certain moments better than before and that is encouraging. The first quarter was not at that level, but everything else, I have no complaints. I would like us to look even better," the 63-year-old tactician concluded.
