I just don't understand why EJ pulls Haywood in these last minutes.

I guess EJ gave up on this game long time ago

Songaila at center instead of Haywood who is probably
having his best game all year? :banghead:

And people wonder why I bash EJ.

Plesae fire this fool.

Three friggin' offensive rebounds in the last possession.

God, DEAR GOD, why will Eddie Jordan not play Brendan Todd Haywood in the stretch. He's only our best rebounder, and a seven footer who might, maybe, just might do a better job than 6'9 Songaila in keeping Yao from grabbing boards that ice the game.

He's still a rook. I want my team leaders taking that shot when we need to get a bucket in the last 5 minutes of the game. It's not like Young found himself wide open under the rim. He shot a fade away 18 footer. Hardly a high percentage shot. I'd much rather see Butler taking a mid-range jumper, which he excels at.

CB just wasn't hitting. His form looked good but
they wouldn't fall.

We could have won this one if both CB and AJ weren't ice
cold.

I saw some good stuff though. Good warm up
for the Boston game if we take the good things and build
on them.

Haywood and NY steeped up. AB had energy and
we got a decent amount of minutes with AB and BH
together. I'll take that.

We are still young with a lot of upside.

9 of 29 shooting from our Big Two.

Tough to win that way.

Also doesn't help that our coach refuses to play our 7' center against Yao, probably the most dominant C in the league right now. Instead, he puts a 6'9 guy on the 7'7 all star.

Good game guys...fortunate to catch Butler on an off game because he's been as good as any player in the league. Same with Jamison, who's also one of the few players averaging over 20 and 10.

What happened to Haywood? He was playing extremely well and was playing superb defense on Yao. (I have him on my fantasy as well haha).

Good luck to the rest of the season!

Not with AB and BH both out and Songaila at center against Yao.

Are you really surprised?

EJ had help from AB & CB in tonights loss, but dust-off the fire EJ thread for rotation management. Houston played solid D also. I wished we were half as good defensively.

We lost this game for three reasons.

1. Subpar games from both of our stars.
2. Horrendous rebounding. Blatche played a lot of minutes tonight but could manage 2 rebounds....WTF.
3. Poor strategy. E.J. should have had Haywood play Yao straight up and not double teamed. Haywood was playing decent defense, yet we kept double teaming Yao. This allowed scrubs like Luther Head to kill us all night long on wide open threes.

Got to give credit to the Rockets tonight though. They play tough defense and took both Jamison and Butler out of their comfort zone.

Good to see Young get his stroke back.

Songalia was only playing center at the very end. Even with both Haywood and Blatche in the game together, we were getting killed on the boards.

Credit Shane Battier for owning CB tonight. That was the difference in the game.

I really don't like EJ's substitution pattern. It's not just him not playing Haywood down the stretch (though that did irk me), it's the way he rides Jamison, Butler and Haywood for the entire 1st and 3rd quarters, leaving our bench to against their starters during the middle of the 2nd and 4th quarters.

He needs to pull Haywood and one of our all-star forwards early in the 1st/3rd quarters, so that they can come back early in the 2nd/4th.
