McGee is indeed a beast, but he really needs to work on those box outs on the defensive glass. It's pretty tragic at the moment.

Through the first quarter and start of the second, at 32-26 Wizards, I am very, very happy with the way Flip's using his roster!

McGee got in very early and made big impact. Flip sat him just when he was getting in a hurry. Arenas was feeling it early. He was the last guy to sit of the starters, playing all the first and into the second. The instant Boykins came in, he made an impact in getting a good play run on one series, and then coming back and scoring on a 6 footer.

Last sub was Blatche, who I think will pick up the rebounding.

Really good coaching IMO.
Bye bye Beal.

Back from the timeout, Flip comes in with Blatche with Haywood!

Coaching them up tonight so far.
Bye bye Beal.

That foul on wade was hilarious when he jumped on Young.

Young cocks back, but to pass, and Wade's thinking 'he's gonna shoot!'

Not a bad guess usually.Generally you'd do well in Vegas betting on Young shooting.

4/11 from the FT line is unacceptable from an NBA team.

we could be blowing them out.

Terrific first half, except for the free throw shooting.
Bye bye Beal.

Well I've watched from the end of the 1st and the 2nd quarter, and aside from the missed free throws, I like what we've done so far. Good ball movement overall, although we've hit some pretty difficult shots (namely Nick Young). The defense has been pretty good imo, good job contesting jump shots.

No doubt, free throw shooting is and has been a concern. Seeing guys like Jamison and Young miss two straight free throws is a bit sickening.

That's just about the only gripe I have right now though. We've given up a bunch of offensive rebound, but I though Saunders made a nice adjustment playing his big lineup of Haywood, Blatche, Jamison.

That lineup is really what helped us break the game open.

Major kudos to Young and his performance so far. His scoring threat on offense is keeping Wade honest, and on the other end he's doing a great job of staying with and in front of Wade.

As a team Washington is doing a great job getting shots within the offense. Outside of a few forced shots by Butler, the Wizards are doing a good job using the clock and moving the ball.

Let's see if they can keep this up in the second half, beating a division rival on the road would be a huge step forward for this team.

I just can't get over how good Nick looks out there. His defense on DWade has been pretty effective, but the most remarkable thing to me is how much effort and hustle he seems to be expending. Compare that to earlier this season when he looked like he was sleepwalking out on the court...

Wonder what made the difference?

Butler is infuriating to watch on offense. He either gets a charging call and incredulously looks at the refs, or gets his **** blocked after a weak attempt.

Well he's playing within himself right now on offense, which is fine. I'd rather he do that than force it and turn it over. He needs to step it up on defense though, Chalmers is smoking him.

We didn't pay him $113 Million for him to score 9 pts in 3 quarters.

No one else on this team can make a shot right now. We could use him.

Poor shooting from FT and 3-PT line tonight for the Wizards.

Let's see if they show up in the 4th quarter.

Nick's on the ball defense is really on the ball.

Way to lock in Nick!

Boy, this guys really makes me sound inconsistent and fickle.

I can't believe I'm typing this, but Nick is dominating DWade on defense.
