I'd consider sending Davis to the G league and see if he can't regain his swagger. Jared Butler was impressive in both G-league and Summer league, Rollins has shown out in limited minutes, Davis has not. He needs to be able to be good somewhere, either at practice or going down, to earn minutes. Here are their G league stats from last year (Davis, Butler, Rollins).

2022-23 14G 25.2mpg 11.8pts 40.4fg% 35.8 3pt% 78.6ft% 4.1reb 2.2ast 1.9to 1.1st 0.4bl

We picked up Johnny's option for next year, so it's obvious we're not giving up on him. Nor should we.

Johnny will always have been a mistake as a draft pick. But that doesn't mean he can't become a useful NBA player.

Change the “season type” drop down. For whatever reason, there’s different portions of the g league seasons like “showcase” “regular season” “ignite tour”.

Looks like Johnny played about 32 G-league games. I focus in on the last 10 or so games, in which he was very good, carried that over to a very good summer league and preseason/training camp. Started off solid in the regular season, then was dropped out of the rotation so that Landry Shamet can shoot 2-12 LOL.

This season is not winning at all or playoffs the whole org top to bottom said that. Rather see Davis get minutes whole season and see what player he is. need Davis starting or get backup minutes. Shamet or Jones and out of those two rather see Jones traded. A lottery pick shouldn't be getting this much little playing time. Out of the draft picks past decade wizards had he's had the least amount of minutes barring injuries.

I could see us cutting him if we want the roster spot. Heck, we cut Cooks, Taj, and Rollins (although they had relatively smaller salaries).

He can’t beat out Shamet. Shamet has a nice Novak contract with multiple team options. Plus, he can shoot and is surprisingly athletic out there.

At best, we will do another Bagley type trade and trade Davis as part of a BYOD trade
