Because they put the lie to the (too) popular idea that you have to have top-end lottery talent to be really good. That that’s the way to build.

Halliburton went 12, Siakam 27. They’ve got good ball-handlers and shooters galore. And a great coach. And they play a fun style — the ball moves, and the guys look like they’re having a great time.

Meh, their "success" was in beating a not-very-good Bucks team missing Giannis for the whole series and Dame for two games.

They are definitely a well-run front office who have made shrewd, proactive trades (Paul George for Sabonis and Oladipo, Sabonis for Haliburton, Brogdon for Nesmith, Bruce Brown and picks for Siakam), but by not bottoming out and drafting high, they probably won't be much better than a 4th seed during the Haliburton era. It's not like they're loaded with a bunch of talented 20-year-olds. Haliburton is still improving, and Mathurin has potential, but most of the rest of their good players are either vets (Turner, Siakam, McConnell) or 25-year-old guys who are WYSIWYG (Toppin, Nesmith, Nembhard).

Going forward, I like the prospects of Boston, Orlando, Philly and New York better. Cleveland too, if they retain Mitchell or find a way to trade him for equivalent value.

Just wondering, which roster would you prefer?

This Pacers roster, or the Heat roster from last year?

The Pacers roster, easily.

The Heat don't really have much talent outside of Bam and Jimmy. And Jimmy looks about done. Everyone else is a mediocre role player that probably wouldn't start on a .500 team. Spoelstra is a sorcerer.

Amazing series, hopefully the Knicks vs Pacers series will be as-good, Pacers beat the Knicks easily in their games this season.

The glory numbers for KD and Book shot up with that last game. Outside of that, they were pretty meh. Durant had 5 *makes* from 3 across an entire playoff series. Booker had 7 3pt makes. Brad had 10.

Not that 3pt makes are the end all of everything, but it comes to show that the Wolves managed to force them into shots closer at the rim which is bad when you've got Gobert there.

Whoever the Suns hire is eventually going to have to convince Bradley Beal to accept a 6th man role, similar to what Klay Thompson did initially with Golden State. Bradley Beal used to put up 30 a night. What changed? I think watching superior players Booker and Durant subordinated Beal. I think a bit of hesitance and insecurity has crept in. Beal needs to become a super 6th man who knows the offense is built around him when he's on the floor.
Bye bye Beal.

It's hard to separate Beal's play from his contract. He is obviously a terrible player relative to his contract, but he is still a totally competent NBA player. Beal averaged 18 points, 5 assists, and 4.4 rebounds on .607 TS%. Per 36, he averaged 20, 5 and 5. It's basically the same production as guys like Austin Reaves, Darius Garland, Immanuel Quickley and Devin Vassell.

If he was being paid MLE money, or even up to $20-25M a year, nobody would even be talking about him as a disappointment. The problem is, he is paid $50M a year.

Suggs went for 22-6-4, made 6 3s. Remains the most underrated young player in the league.

Game 7 is going to be fun.

I saw some Kobe in him on some of those midrange jumpers. Edwards has a similar ability to just explode into the air off the dribble.

He both moves and looks like him. Even has his arm band up high on his forearm like him. Kinda weird

It's been 6 years since an American-born player has won an MVP. I feel like Edwards is emerging as the best plausible candidate. He is the only guy out there that I think can compete with Jokic, Doncic, SGA, Giannis, Embiid and Wemby. Finally, a true superstar wing in the MJ/Kobe mold.

Game 7 is going to be fun.

Can't help but point out that he went 2-13 from the floor with 5 turnovers in Game 7.

Suggs is awesome defensively, but still not a reliable offensive player. At least not yet.

Total nonsense. Averaged 17 points on 60.2% TS this year. One bad game doesn’t erase that.
