Collier is my top guy so far. He does it all, NBA body, elite playmaking, high basketball IQ, good defender, great first step and finishing ability. I think he’s the best guard in the class by a mile. Want him on the Wizards.

The Buzelis kid is going to be a star in the NBA. Crystal clear on that one. Some weird combination of Gordon Hayward and Kristaps Porzingis, but he’s just flat out good at everything.

Give me Collier-Davis-Coulibaly-Avdija-Gafford starting 5 going into 2024-2025!

He's playing the U19 World Cup now. Right now he is playing against Spain where there are some interesting guys too.

It's never too early to crank up the Edey-Beekman bandwagon.

I'm also looking to see if the transfer portal reveals any standouts or development. Kel'el Ware may see a jump in usage and earn a few looks:

The guy that dominated today against the France U19 of Risacher was Izan Almansa (88-69 win for Spain). He is a projected lottery pick for the 2024 draft and is playing for Overtime Elite. Last summer was the MVP at the U17 World Cup and the U18 Euro Cup.

Today, 21 pts (9/15 FG, 3/4 FT) an 7 reb in 24 min

Risacher went for 2 pts (1/6 FG) 5 rebs 3 ast in 23 min

As I will be following the International tournaments this summer where some interesting prospects for the next draft are participating, I will try to bring some info about them in this thread.

It will be fascinating to see if a team can "extort" a haul of assets by being able to trade the Bronny James pick to a team when that team knows that Lebron may quite possibly come along at a league minimum salary to play with his son. Imagine the roster permutations for a team with such aspirations.

What an intriguing proposition.

Can you rank those guys as if they were in the 2023 draft?

I’ve spent about 1 hour watching YouTube highlights of high school games, don’t know the numbers at all, but Collier looks like he would’ve been in a similar tier as the Thompson twins, with a massive debate between him and Scoot.

Probably the same with Buzelis. Elite top 5 tier. Can do everything on the court at 6’11. Can easily see him in the convo for top 3 after dominating college.

This is super early and based on almost nothing, but I expect DJ Wagner to be wildly overrated. Great athlete, not very skilled.

Almansa is a beast. I’d be thrilled with him in next year’s draft.

The 2024 draft class is the weakest in recent memory. I know this is a gambler's fallacy, but I'd rather not get a top 3 pick in the '24 draft, so we don't use up our "good luck".

That being said, I like Collier. He's exactly what this team could use right now

I will be looking into this class a little later in the year honestly I like to wait until we see these kids play. I kind of like to wait until tournament time then start watching tape and looking at stats and stuff lol. This time last year I only knew Victor was being slobbered over like a 60 year old who is about to marry a 19 year old instagram model with out a prenupt.

i went youtube rabbit hole on Buzelis. We've got the next Giannis and the next Jokic from this draft. I'm going to need the next Nowitzki in the next draft.

Risacher is awesome. Reminds me of prime Batum. Very similar to Buzelis.

Yup. Risacher & Buzelis are both really good wings that actually profile to fit well with Bilal. Those 2, with Collier as a backup are the 3 ill be following the most.
Holland just seems like a bad fit. Really young and raw. Seems redundant with Bilal.

Had the exact same initial reaction: Buzelis and Risacher fit great with Bilal, Collier looks like the best lead guard early on, and Holland is athletic, but not sure about the feel and maturity level there, more athlete than skilled all around player like the other 2 wings.

Another sidenote about this draft: Really thought OKC had an extremely out of character weak draft. Starting to wonder if Dawkins really was the genius behind the drafting in OKC. We should safely finish in the top 5 and have a real shot at Buzelis/Risacher/Collier.

I read a goofy take on the General Board that made me chuckle at first...then had me thinking.

Whatever team takes Bronny (i'm assuming he's going to declare) is going to have a nice trading chip to use if Lebron is serious about playing with his son. With Lebron being a free agent, it would make some sense for a team wanting to sign Lebron to draft his son.

Would it make sense to draft Bronny and use him to gain future assets from a team trying to sign Lebron? Probably not worth it but it would be funny as hell.
