GT #50: Cavs @ Bullets

Post#1 » by Pistol King » Thu Feb 8, 2024 12:03 am

While all eyes are towards the deadline, there is a game today.

The Cavs would be almost an impossible challenge considering their form.

Let's hope seeing a competitive game and good performances by the youngsters.

The game is surprisingly competitive at half time.

Corey was efficient, Kuzma put up good numbers but I don't enjoy watching him, it's like he's playing tennis and not basketball where there are other players around him.

Deni came way too soft and I counted 3 different situations when instead of dunking the hell of the ball he chose a soft lay up. I hope he gears it up in the second half. The D was solid as always.

Bilal has lost his confidence a bit. He will learn form it. Like Deni, at least he gives everything on the defensive end making his mistakes more tolerable.

Deni needs to go high on the glass when there is a shot blocker close.

Kuzma shooting us out of the game. Low probability it seems, but God I hope he gets traded..

If he doesn't get traded it might be time for me to stop watching the games. I am tired of watching him chuck up 20+ shots.

im sorry but i dont understand Keefe.. he prefer Bilal on the 4th quarter on Deni ??? even so... he prefer Poole on Deni with his 0 pts????? Deni didnt play 1 min the all quarter. even if he had a bad game today he was your MVP in the last game...

Deni literally going to get benched the whole fourth quarter. I mean not his best game, missed 3/4 bunnies, but you are going to have Poole in there over him and not give him any minute in a close game down the stretch?

The disrespect he gets from this team is laughable.

Lol Keefe putting Deni in 55 seconds left.

I swear if things don't start changing tomorrow, I'm going to lose my mind.

Poole and Kuzma are superior tank commanders…truly awful as the number 1 and 2 options of any team. Not a surprise we have the 2nd worst league record with those 2 chucking shots and committing a zillion boneheaded turnovers a game.

I’m afraid you are right, there is a clear pattern about it.

Usually I'm pro having tough love approach with Deni, but seriously the disrespect Kefee shows towards him since he has arrived starts frustrating me.

If you don't like something he does, for example his lack of aggression on a give night, guide him instead of taking minutes off him.

What an awful way to develop a young player with high potential who gives his best on D on nightly basis despite the shooting ups and downs.

On the other hand, Poole can do no wrong :banghead: :banghead:

Even if Jones+Kuz+Poole.. the fact that Keefe give Deni only 1 min in the final quarter shows he doesnt believe in him and still trying to "teach" him sh×t like on his rookie years

He subbed him out again, twice... Literally put him in for a jump ball and took him back out. He got an additional -4 to his +/- for playing about 5 seconds in the fourth

F#ck Keefe.

It wasn't even a minute, it was 10-12 seconds when the game was over.

Clear and consistent pattern of just bizarrely getting yanked from games.

He still got 28 minutes had 4 TOs and had only 6 points and 3 rebounds. He plays 8 more minutes than Deni, the longest tenured dude on this team.

Poole was 0-5 for ZERO points and still plays 5 more minutes.

This franchise is so **** warped in the head, it's so damn depressing.

Last game I was all for sitting Deni the entire 4th quarter, not letting him back out there to score a career high because we were getting our asses handed to us. But here tonight, we then have a close game, and he is only put back in the game with 55 or so seconds left, when the game was basically over, and plays about 10-12 seconds of that all in places where we were intentionally using him as a situational sub.

Did we think we were going to squeeze some final juice from trade partners if one of our vets has an above average game? This is just just gross negligence with how they treat Deni like a rag doll on this team.

The reason for yanking Deni "could" be that coach wants shooters/scorers in the game down-the-stretch, even shi tty ones like Poole
