Antawn was great tonight... really gritty. His stat line is not that far from his norm in an OT game... but he fought like crazy for loose balls at key moments....

That said, Deeeeeeee-shawn was the player of the game. He was excellent on both sides of the ball, but really turned the game around when he came in to shut down Johnson late in the 4th. Until that point, I thought the game was lost.

NO contest IMO. DS played an all around great game. He was the main reason we won tonight.

I hate to not give it to Jamison because I have so much respect for his board work this year. The guy is averaging almost 11 boards per game now. 17 boards tonight. Just unbelievable.

But I gotta agree with LSBF, Deshawn was POTG. He made 3 absolutely huge defensive plays down the stretch and he kept us in the game on offense in the first half. The team was +15 when he was in the game and -11 when he sat.

Jamison is second. I can't overlook that Josh Smith lit him up for 35 points.

Butler and AD both played solid but unspectacular games. Both were extremely clutch down the stretch. I think I'll give 3rd place to Butler because he put up his numbers with Josh Smith guarding him.

This is a no brainer to me. DS by far. We would not have won this game without his three key defensive stops, and he hit a crucial runner with about 1:40 left in the game.

Yup, Mr. 50 played the best defense I've seen in years.

He even had a sequence where he crossed a guy over, practically breaking the dudes ankles, and drove to the hole for sweet layup.

Stevenson saved this game almost singlehandedly the last minute of regulation. Wiz would have lost if he didn't step up.

I have to cast it for DS given you have to choice one.

AD was so important and ABs 5 block had a huge impact but when the game was on the line and that dude was driving to the rack, it was the DS block that saved the game. Then he got another. That unusual for him to be a blocker. His D was tight. He also forced that back court.

Tons of props to AD but DS gets the nod

Nice game AB.

See ya tomarrow BH.

The most underrated player on the team, Deshawn Stevenson.

yah, gotta give the edge to DS but wow... 17 boards! Holy cow! And 5 blocks from AB!

Ha! I know, my sentimental POG goes to ...

Pecherov! Yes! His presence lifts a weight off the shoulders of the players and the coaching staff, knowing we've now got an extra big banging body out there that's mobile and has a jumper, just gives us the confidence now that we finally have a deep bench, even with gil's injury forcing AD to start.

The first place goes to Deshawn Stevenson for his overall defense, some key baskets and the huge two blocks at the end. He was phenomenal in the end.

If it hadn't been for those two blocks I might have given the potg to Jamison 22 and 17 are sick numbers. He hustled a lot of boards for us tonight, but nate made a good point. He was lit up for 35 points. Still he played a solig game and gets the 2nd from me.

The third place is almost a three-way tie between Tough Juice, Daniels and Blatche. Just because I am so happy Blatche had a great game after a while I'll give him the little bit emotional third. But like nate mentioned, AD and CB were extremely clutch in the end and one could make a case for either of them to be in the top 3.

DeShawn by far. Sealed the game for us on BOTH ends, and just played extremely well overall. AJ was great on the boards but once again he takes inadvertent shots, hence his FG percentage decreases by the second. Butler was good, but anyone else think he had a quiet game?

AD and AB were great, especially AB. The way he just handled himself on offense, not picking up ticky tack fouls, as well as not letting your opponent get easy layups on the other end... impressive playing tonight from him. I laughed when Anthony Johnson made two nice crossover moves and then AB swats the **** outta him as if to say, "Are you serious?"

All in all, great win tonight. Bench finally showed up.

not even close, DS was the player of the game for the big time plays he had down the stretch and the fact that he shot well...those 2 blocks were the keys to the game

1. Blatche. Deshawn was critical late, but Dray's length and double/recovery speed kept us defensively in the game for every minute he was on court. And they were surprisingly long minutes. A glance at the future. Smooth cool headed, nasty.

I even liked when he got chesty and gave a Mutombo finger waggle (in an arena where Mutombo did all hella finger waggling). I also liked that AD instantly told him to stfu so's not to get a tech for taunting. But his gumby stretch arms changed a lotta shots even those he couldn't reach.

2. DeShawn. The Locksmith. Nuff said.

3. Jamison. Defensively Gentleman Jamison gave up a ton, but he caught all the loose balls that Horford didn't hoover. He was getting mugged and mauled all game, something that it seems like teams have decided is the best way to slow down the Wiz attack: body up. But despite the fouling he stayed strong and kept with the post game even thought he opponents are all about 10 years younger, bigger, more athletic, more energetic. Double double by halftime though, right? Least it seemed that way. Pretty good. Mr Consistent.

Gotta be DS. Those two blocks as the game went down to the wire were not only sick athletically, they are EXACTLY the kind of defensive toughness this team could really use. I am super-happy to see DS acting as our defensive stopper.

Last night really is a GREAT example of what Jamison brings to this team: he scored for us (22), went to the boards (17), and allowed him self to get completely torched by Josh Smith. Just completely napalmed. 35 points. The game should not have been nearly this close is someone were playing decent defense on Smith. Guy has only scored +25 points on three other occasions this season (against Milwaukee, Minnie, NJ). He just went off like gangbusters against us too.

Not to take anything away from the kid, but it was like a layup drill and Jamison was a folding chair.
