I'm liking the potential depth we got here.

AB-SO-Lutely

Darius has looked pretty decent lately although I did have
to shake my head at him getting a foul on the first defensive
possession he was in the game.

Very solid game tonight.

Our depth is going to be scary at such time as Gil returns in
something like 2nd team allNBA form. AD can then play more
like 20 mpg. Everyone should have more energy.

Trying to defend GA, N1, TJ, AJ and whoever, BTH, AB or even Songaila
would be an absolute nightmare. Replacing N1 with either DS or RMjr
would not make it much easier either.

I remember the first thing that EG and EJ said about Darius when he was signed was that they got him because he makes shots. When the Wiz are healthy enough for him to focus on doing that, he's quite effective.

Hooray.

Looks like this thread is working pretty well. About 2-3 weeks after it went up Songaila started playing better.

"law" of averages (reversion to mean)

same thing as the SI cover jinx

if you're doing so well or so sucky that people/media are
taking major note of it, chances are that you'll soon return
to your more normal level of production. Obviously, this
all presumes reasonable health status.

The Songaila-transformation over the past few weeks has been great.

I hesitate to think the reasoning is because of health -- remember, last season he was not even close to 100% and his production was great for a role player off the bench. He was hitting open jumpshots and making the chippies inside. Very serviceable.

I think he just got himself mired in a 50+ game slump, if that's possible.

I'm in an all-my-life basketball suckiness slump. I'll break out pretty soon tho I'm sure!
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

I'm not exactly on the DSong bandwagon, but I notice he gets the ball up remarkably quickly when he gets fed near the basket. He was cutting hard to the hoop, and the ball was out of his hands almost as soon as he received those passes. No resets, no double clutching, no coming down and going back up, no hesitations, no nothing.

Just wanted to note Darius' improvement in recent weeks.

We're all on the same team here. You, me, the rest of the board. We all want to see the home team do well.

Go Wiz!

No offense taken Pine. I really was delighted that you bumped this. Gotta give the man his props when he earns them.
