A lot of what we call 'thought' is just mental activity
When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression
Those who are convinced of absurdities, can be convinced to commit atrocities

FWIW, the dobro should have been a little louder in the mix

Conrad? A terrific book -- maybe an odd choice for a teenager...?
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

That's brutal. But yeah, best teacher I ever had in HS loved that book and we spent 2 months or so going through it real slowly. "Life is very long..."
Better book than Heart of Darkness, IMO--although that spawned movies like Apocalypse Now and Ad Astra (underrated movie if you haven't seen it). Actually I've read almost every Conrad novel even the mediocre ones...

You are nowhere near as old as me. I knew Mike Bloomfield in Chicago in the sixties.

Well, no doubt about it, he was a great writer.
Don't we have a "reading" thread buried somewhere who knows how many screens back...? Someone needs to bring it back to life -- it's usually doc with the initiative to do stuff like that!
