Laron had his shot in LA and was getting all of the SG minutes behind Kobe and some of the PG minutes and then he blew out his achilles. That was pretty much the end of his NBA career it looks like.

Kyrgystani children experience the healing powers of Laron:

The teenagers are bound for Indianapolis to watch the NCAA tournament next weekend, but tonight it was time for their first NBA game. They met with Darius Songaila and Oleksiy Pecherov before the game, asking for their practice methodology; Pecherov recommended they go to Best Buy and look for Magic Johnson DVDs. They met with Vice President of Basketball Administration Tommy Sheppard; "We have something in common, we all have basketball, so I feel like I already know you guys," Sheppard said.

They asked Dominic McGuire to dunk, quizzed Laron Profit about his recovery and weight-lifting techniques, and treated Gilbert with the same loving awe I've seen from countless U.S. teens.

"Since I started playing basketball that was my dream, to watch a game of NBA players," Zhanysh Adiev said through the translator. "Look at me. I'm shining like a new pin.

^Saw that this morning. Does Profit work for the Wizards now? Or does he just have gym privileges? Being groomed for head coach? :D

The Ron is always with the Wizards organization, whether he has an "official title" or not. He is in the hearts and minds of every player, that is.

The RON is everywhere and everything. He is the plastic in Abe's hearing aid. A fiber on Tiny's sweater. He is Hoops' knee pads, the bologna in John Williams' sandwich. He is gum on the bottom of Ledell Eackles' shoe. He is Ernie Grunfield's haircut.

The RON is the sweetness in the Big E's turnaround jump shot, a Kevin Porter assist, a Frank Johnson steal. He is Dave Hopla's notebook.

When Gil elevates to dunk on Saturday night... it will be a result of The Ron's mystical healing powers.

I hope that clarifies.

You forgot that The Ron is the bun on Rod Strickland's pre-game hot dog.

Only Laron can get a 20-10-5 average out of Pech!
Bring back Laron!

From the SteinBog's interview of Chris Whitney:

Who was the funniest teammate you ever had?

Probably Laron Profit. He would just say anything. He was crazy. Good guy, great guy, but crazy. He had this thing he would always do, I think the referee's name was Hugh Evans. [Profit] would make a move [in practice], and if you bumped him, he would just yell out 'Oh come on Hugh! You've got to call that!"

And we would sit there like, 'Who is Hugh? Who are you talking about?' Until he told us--'Hugh, the referee!'-- and it became that everything we did in practice, we was like, 'Come on, Hugh!' Next thing you know, Rip Hamilton, everyone, walking around, like 'Come on, Hugh!" If anybody did everything, it was Hugh's fault.

Profit was at Barry Farms like the usual. I'm not sure if he is still playing overseas or what, but he is still playing basketball and D-ing up the best perimeter player ont he court. Lost a 1/4 step from what I hear after the achilles tear, but if it was anyone besides Le God it would of been a full step.

Any of the major networks get the exclusive rights yet to Profit's announcement of where he's playing next year? I don't think even President Obama would be able bump coverage of that event.

Guess Laron rocks. Same way I loved me some Jahid White. Only dude that could man up with Shaq.
But such is the way of the NBA. Timing and a valid chance means a lot.

Look at Blake. Always new the kid had enough to stick around. Now he is with LA. Good for him.

To bad Laron never put it together in the NBA.

Baby Jordan I tell you. :)
