+2!

Washington area fans FINALLY have something to cheer about!
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

I've watched just about every game, beginning to end this year. I've never done that with hockey before. Thank God for Georgetown and the Caps.

Even during the third period last night when the Islanders were accumulating chance after chance, you could see the difference in the two teams in terms of skill and skating.

Man, the Caps are fun to watch. When Green is healthy and they are throwing Ovechkin, Green, Semin and Backstrom at you... it would, well, suck to be you.

I'm afraid the minute I start taking a serious interest into the Caps they'll end up with the same fate as the Redskins and Wizards.

Totally unfair that we basically have the Kobe and LeBron of the NHL with Semin and Ovechkin. Having the two most skilled goal scorers in the league is awesome coupled with other dynamic role players.

This team is for real this year. Would not surprise me to see us with Pittsburgh or Boston in the ECF. Would love to have a playoff series against Crypuss and Malkin.

Don't be afraid. The Caps have serious talent all the way down prospects who aren't even on our farm teams yet.

We are so deep that one of our goalie prospects, Michael Neuvrith, who's most likely NHL ready within two years is not even on the AHL team but playing for the team below it. That's how deep the talent runs for us.

How good must it be to be Nicklas Backstrom - playing between the Alex twins? Best job in hockey?

I was in the front row on Long Island last night. Just saw the replay of the OT goal and there I am in the corner!

Best job in hockey by far but one that people will always use against him. Backis is talented enough to be a 100 point scorer himself but he will never receive the credit he should get because he mans the line for the two best goal scorers in the league.

The Washington Capitals are possibly the best run team in hockey - including Detroit.
If Ted Leonsis does end up owning the BULLETS some day (soon), we will see a different kind of franchise...hopefully not at the expense of the Caps!
We are the Washington BULLETS!

I don't know about being best run. Leonsis really crippled that franchise for about 3-4 years b/c his high priced free agents didn't work. And do remember, the team sucked last year through Thanksgiving. Key is that they need to keep this momentum for years, and not just experience a spurt and then dive into last place again.

Caps are almost automatic at home now if they can play the same way on the road. They are an exceptionally well run and good team and now if the deepness of are Goalie prospects can produce we could be Really good for years to com.e
