Step 1:

Miami gets: CJ Miles (3.7 mil, 3 years)

Utah gets: MIA 2nd round pick, 3.7 mil in trade exception

Step 2:

Miami gets: Carlos Boozer (12.66 mil, 1 year), Kyrylo Fesenko (870K, 1 year)

Utah gets: Randy Foye (3.58 mil, 1 year), Andray Blatche (3 mil, 3 years), Mike James (6.47 mil, 1 year), WAS 2nd round pick

Washington gets: Michael Beasley (4.64 mil, 4 years), Mark Blount (7.96 mil, 1 year)

At first glance, I don't really care for this deal. However, if the assumption is that we only plan on keeping one of Foye/Miller, then maybe this deal makes sense. We would essentially be trading Blatche for Beasley.

I don't like this deal at all. Mainly because I'm not enamored with Beasley.

He's basically a younger version of AJ.

I'd be happy to pull that deal. Worst case, Beasley is Jamison II in another year or two. And Jamison is better than Blatche, like it or not. Best case, Beasley is a star, a top flight forward for the next decade.

I don't really care about the other components. We'll just sell the second rounder anyways, so might as well give it away here, help the fans not get their hopes up for it. James and Blount are both inactive list fodder. I imagine many wouldn't want to deal Foye, but he strikes me as a career average-at-best'er, so we'll survive without him. Plus, as nate mentions, there's a good chance we can only keep one of Miller and Foye anyways, so essentially, we'd just be making that decision now instead of next summer (and picking the better player to boot).

Beasley is a tweener s/f p/f that is also a horrible post defender. Miami is stuck with that lol. EG is not trading a 6'11 post defender and scorer for a 6'7 non defensive powerforward. I would trade Jamison for Beasley straight up and maybe throw in a second rounder.

I think Love could be a good fit. I think he would mesh well with Jamison and he would be coming into his prime about the time Jamison is retiring. However I think Javale's potential is too much to give up at this point.

Javaris Crittenton - 2years
DeShawn Stevenson - 2years
for
Jason Maxiell - 4years

they kind of have a gut at PF with Villanueva, Daye and Summers there now .... i can see them lookin at this if they trade Rip

dude is just a nasty enforcer around the rim and only 26 ... look at his newest highlight reel

I've always been a Maxiell fan and I think he would fill a huge need on this team. And seeing how Detroit has been signing PFs like mad this summer, we probably wouldn't have to include the pick to get him.

The main issue is that now you've got 3 young reserve bigs signed longterm. Who do you play and for how long? Maybe this is something that's better saved for next summer as an option in case we lose Haywood. Then we could deal Stevenson for Maxiell straight up.

Wow, Quentin Richardson could be traded again, for the fourth time!

I think we should make an offer, just for the Heck of it. Seems like he's turning into a human chain letter.

I checked in the trade checker and the Wizards could trade Stevenson and Mike James for Q Rich. Initially I thought it would not make much sense for the Wolves. However if Rubio stays in Europe this season, Mike James might be a decent option for a back-up PG.

^ Yeah but they'd have no reason to take on the extra year of DeBrick's salary. I also think they like Bobby Brown.

A trade I would have made before the draft.

This is a trade I did tonite with the Utah Jazz at a BBall sim league I am in:

Utah trades: Pick No. 20 ($0.00) Carlos Boozer ($11,593,817.00) Andrei Kirilenko ($15,106,000.00) Utah recieves: Pick No. 33 ($0.00) Pick No. 5 ($0.00) Mike James ($6,244,083.00) Etan Thomas ($6,864,200.00) Antawn Jamison ($9,923,285.00)

Washington trades: Pick No. 33 ($0.00) Pick No. 5 ($0.00) Mike James ($6,244,083.00) Etan Thomas ($6,864,200.00) Antawn Jamison ($9,923,285.00) Washington recieves: Pick No. 20 ($0.00) Carlos Boozer ($11,593,817.00) Andrei Kirilenko ($15,106,000.00)

I may have gotten a little bit more, but I think its a great deal. I got rid of the 2 junk players we had and although I got rid of one of the Big 3..which I would never want to do....I like the above trade.

Who does Etan play for?

Check the latest NBA transactions (In this case, June 2009, to answer my question, Agent0_MVP).
Bye bye Beal.

In fairness, he was suggesting this was a 'coulda' been' trade for draft night. Though it could still be enacted with a plutonium powered Delorian and an excitable professor with untamed hair.

Yeah, there's also something called "the other team". I don't think Utah goes for this. And I'm not sure the Wiz like it either because they're trading for both Boozer and Kirilenko. Wouldn't that mean AK47 would end up having the same problems here?

Boozer, Etan and James all have expiring contracts. So when the dust settles, you basically traded Jamison + #5 + #33 for Kirilenko + #20. I don't like that deal.
