Stern has suspended Arenas without pay indefinitely, calling him "unfit to play in the NBA." (-Adrian Wojnarowski)

Gil deserved the "violent thug" rep? I'd agree with stupid, childish, irresponsible with guns rep is all Gil.yungal07 wrote:WizStorm wrote:BIG difference is that making up trades and front office moves is one thing ... but ruining a guys reputation is another. I'll still think a libel suit is entirely possible after all the facts in this case have been revealed.
Vescey ruined Gilbert's rep? Really?
One person ruined Gilbert's rep, and it sure as hell is not Peter Vescey.

WS I believe in light of the public perception of guys with guns being drawn came from the NYP story, I'd say Gil should definitely sue Vecsey if that's not true.
Gil being nonchalant about it was really, really, stupid. However, I'm inclined to believe he had false hope based on the true (?) playfulness of the situationn. Gil was stupid to not act contrite about the whole thing. Very stupid to not shut up about it. He should have IMO NEVER turned the guns over, never admitted a thing to anyone and then be quiet ...
But now, after the fact, I'm thinking Vecsey should be sued for libel.
I'm hoping he doesn't do anything else to Vecsey ...
Bye bye Beal.

Re: Gil vs. Javaris (Gun Incident)
I was unable to find this information anywhere, but do we know who actually leaked the story? As far as I understand, NYP was first to report on the matter with Arenas and Wizards releasing some statement afterward, but I'm somewhat lost between "I did bring the guns from my house to the locker room due to birth of my daughter" and "pulling the guns on each other" time frame.
