Playoff rosters & transactions in 2024 under the new CBA

What're the restrictions on playoff rosters?

How many guys can be on the playoff roster each game? Each series?

As an example, with the Knicks suffering injuries to multiple guys could they sign Dwight Howard? (Someone who has not been on a roster all season?)

Could they sign a player who was on another team this season but was cut prior to March 1st?

A team chooses players from their 15-man NBA roster to be active for a playoff game. Two-ways are ineligible. Injuries are tough luck and limit the choices, but are why teams can amass 15 players on their roster rather than 7-8. You only have to have 8 active players for a game.

The last day a player can be signed to a contract is the day of the team's final regular season game.

In the regular season, there are special hardship rules that expand roster room when a team is down to 11, with the missing ones expected to remain out, and all have been out for the last 3 games (or more). Not sure if there is any added latitude that would kick in if that happens in playoffs, but NY has not gotten to that threshold.

Are all 15 guys not eligible each game?
