That was my screen today. I don’t even visit realgm because any topic I click it’s just ad galore. I can’t browse at all.
I get the need for ads but this is crazy.

As others have said the only way I can use this site right now is as blocker which I didn’t want to use

When I visit the site via mobile while simultaneously listening to music or a podcast or something, that other audio will stop. This doesn't happen with other sites/forums I visit.

I assume this is due to mobile ads playing sound? Any way to stop this? Does this happen to anyone else?

I keep getting asked about personalized ads, every time I visit a new page. It does not matter how many times I press "continue using site", next page I visit this popup at the bottom of the screen inform me about relevant ads and hides half the page content. It is super annoying, is there a way to agree once and stop seeing this message?

Why are all of these pro-Trump ads appearing on RealGM? I find them highly offensive. They belong on Fox News, not here. If these ads continue to run, I will never purchase another product or service advertised on RealGM, and I will urge others to do the same.

It would be great for there to be a paid membership level that gives you no ads, say $4/month or $40/year.

The ads here are getting more and more annoying (e.g. the banner at the bottom that stays until you X it out, even if no ad is present) and I get that the site has bills to pay; I'd rather just pay something than have a lower quality experience.

I can't fathom browsing the internet in 2020 without an ad blocker. This site was out of hand years ago with ads

The banner ad across the bottom of the screen and the video in the bottom right are really annoying. I understand having ads but those are really over the top.

Pop up ads are always going to be an issue with 2 perspectives but in recent months ads pop up here when I am trying to post and right where I am trying to compose text. Blocking my ability to have clean line of sight to post seems a step too far to me. I have struggled to work around it and might get fed up with it.

Fwiw, I am using chrome / mobile. This has happened at least 5-10 times when posting but not every time.

We've eliminated a few more intrusive ad types in favor of those because we thought it would make for a better experience. Can you post a screenshot of how the ad is blocking your line of sight when posting?

I tried but I cant get screenshot to behave fully so far.

The ad is right over where the last character goes and blocks everything after that from sight. The ad will move if I change orientation and sometimes I can click it away but a new one is often back in 10 seconds doing the same thing. This is too complicated and unfriendly.

In the pre-css days of webpage design there were frames. Now frames have their disadvantages, and they'll never come back, but what they did provide was a static layout. Ads, in frames, could take time to appear, but they didn't overlap any content, and they didn't cause the page to jump.

That should be the goal for this site. Don't overlap content with ads and do not allow the loading of ads to cause the page to jump. PLEASE, do not put ads on the login page. It is annoying to try to tap the login fields and have them jump away from you.

Put ads between posts, not above the navigation menu.

This box ad that pops up on the bottom third of your mobile browsing, and pops back up in 15 seconds after you’ve closed it is ridiculous.

I can't fathom a pop up covering the entire page on a website every 60-90 seconds in 2021 but here we are. :nonono:

Seriously, you think these McDonald's pop-ups on mobile are acceptable?

Yep - same issues with popup videos.

I block ads on my computer, but I leave them on my phone, you need some revenue.

Please take the ads off of the login page. The page jumps around so much that I hit links i am not trying to instead of the login button.

Also the videos, in the bottom right corner, do not interest me at all and interfere with navigation.

I will try ads on the computer every once in a while to see if the user experience is getting better.

The site is terribly laggy, especially on mobile.

I'm almost certain the site is losing traffic because of it, I certainly am discouraged from browsing on mobile because of it.
