Kevin Durant Never Felt Comfortable With Suns Offense

Kevin Durant reportedly never felt comfortable playing alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal in the Phoenix Suns' offense, sources told Shams Charania and Doug Haller of The Athletic.

Durant had "persistent issues" with being relegated to the corner with the offense built around pick-and-rolls instead of his strengths.

Teammates and those close to the organization felt like Durant should have voiced his concerns more directly with Frank Vogel.

Kevin Young, now at BYU, was responsible for the Suns' offense. Players questioned the coaching staff's ability to maximize a lineup of Durant, Beal, and Booker.

The Suns are reportedly taking a "hard look" at making full changes to the coaching staff this summer.

I remember when the Nets were going to trade Durant, they wanted Scottie and most seemed to think it was crazy for the Raps to refuse it. I think they made the right decision.

The problem isn't the coaching. The problem is Durant. He alway6s has trouble saying he might be a part of what is wrong. It is always the system, or his 'mates, or whatever else he can blame. Darned good player, yes, but also a bit of a diva.

Could it be the fact the team was left without a starting point guard and reliable secondary big man because of the ridiculous Beal trade? I really don't know what Vogel was supposed to do with that squad.

"Durant had "persistent issues" with being relegated to the corner with the offense built around pick-and-rolls instead of his strengths."

What strengths? ISO ball? He bought into Warrior's team ball system the 1st year there and they won easily all the way through. 2nd year, he started to want to be "the guy" and go ISO away from the system, making it harder for the Ws to win. He left to form his super team just to be "the guy". If you are not comfortable with the team you pick, then say so not cry about it after the fact.

This is the correct answer here. They need a point guard to set these guys up. With their limited cap space, there's not many options to choose from in FA. Pat Bev? Kyle Lowry? Monte Morris? Dennis Smith? Not convincing options to say the least. For a backup big, there's some options there they can look into for the minimum.

He never felt comfortable with the offense?! Lol. If he did feel uncomfortable with the offense, how come he didn't inform the coaching of this?!
