Got up at 5am Monday morning local for this one with my daughter. Worth it so far.
Work is gonna suck later though...

South Carolina's size and depth seem overpowering so far. Iowa needs spectacular play to have a chance.

South Carolina is a deserving champion. A complete team, impactful in all areas of the game.

Betting on South Carolina was a no brainer.

Weirdly, it never even struck me to check the odds!

Yeah it was just a small bet but I had a feeling that Iowa just didn't stand a chance.

I told my daughter before the game we were watching the best team in college basketball. And Staley is a good coach.

Staley is the difference between SC beating Iowa and LSU losing to Iowa. Kim M refused to put her most athletic defender on Clark. And left her least athletic defender and someone 5’7 on her.

LSU had the dogs to win and didn’t utilize them correctly.

Gino and Dawn understood the assignment. Kim didn’t.

I'm surprised that Mulkey hasn't been dragged over the coals for what she did in that game.

Hailey Van Lith could not physically handle Caitlin Clark and she left the kid out there to be destroyed. It was coaching malpractice.

That's like Coach Thibs putting Jalen Brunson on a wing player and expecting him to shut them down. It's asinine and I was glad Van Lith entered the transfer portal.

Great news: 18mil people turned in to watch South Carolina vs Iowa. Highest watched non NFL/Olympic sporting event since 2019!

The women's game continues to grow.

I struggle not to watch games like a coach these days which can be a little tiring to be honest. I though Van Lith was the wrong choice, but to not make a very early change and/or have Plan B and C ready to go...eeesh.
Terrible coaching.

I was so much more comfortable watching Mula play deny. Like...of course! Let's try and cut off supply, at least a little.

Van Lith apparently was also ill the night before. Either way, I would have put Flau'jae on Clark without hesitation. It's just a bizarre decision by Mulkey.

I didn't know you followed women's hoops my man..you gonna be down for a NY Liberty thread on the Knicks forum?

UConn is gonna be back in the final 4 next season. Paige is gonna go off in her final year.

I follow women hoops heavily. mostly HS school and college level. I’m a junkie on there.

The WNBA has had a hard time keeping my interest since it’s not as exciting but that’s been changing.

UCONN will be straight cause they will get their injured players back. Plus KK is a dog. If she was not in foul trouble that game goes different.

This is prob the best Freshman Class of all time in college. So many teams have really good freshman.

If people think NC state guards are scary ….wait till Zam Jones plays for NC State next year. She basically is Kobe Mentally out there. Super intense.

I was really impressed by NC State freshman Zoe Brooks. Great handle and super shifty with the dribble, but limited by bad shooting. If she gets her shooting straightened out, she's going to be a problem.

I forgot to respond to this.

Yeah I love Zoe.

Her and JuJu was my favorite freshman this year.

Her with a shot is super scary. She a bully.

Her form isn’t that bad so she should improve.

Here's food for thought:

The men played at 9:30 EST on a Monday night

The women played at 3pm EST on a Sunday afternoon

You can make an argument that the women's number was actually suppressed because they chose to air the game outside of prime time. They hit 24mil at one point. I don't believe for a second that this number is the best that the game could've done.

Yeah I can see where her release can become inconsistent but there's a lot to work with.

She's got some long arms too.
