This is two straight games the Liberty have shutdown A'ja Wilson without abandoning their perimeter defense.

On a related note, gotta go Jonquel for the Cup MVP yeah?

Jonquel's inside play is a huge reason why the Aces got blown out twice. They can't handle her inside. 16pts 15rebs. Wilson cannot match her physicality, and Steph Dolson is down there hitting bodies too.

This is the Jonquel Jones i expected to see.

The battle for the 4-8 seed is also going to be intense with 6 teams for 5 spots, and all of them currently within 4 games of each other in the standings.

This is going to be an exciting end to the season.

Washington has got to get healthy. :noway: my girl Tasha Cloud needs help. At least Shakira Austin is back.

It is great to see Jonquel do Jonquel things again.

The Candace Parker thing looms large here. It hasn't required much talking about while the Aces were dominating. But in this whole battle of the super teams discourse... Parker was the Aces only big addition (well Alysha Clark is a nice piece too), and they gave up Dearica Hamby as part of that process. With Parker they cobbled together enough size to always have a frontcourt advantage. Without Parker, it's Kiah Stokes. The numbers say that works, but you could see Hammon lose confidence in that look against New York pretty quick.

Yeah. Not having Parker is clearly hurting them in this match up. I wonder when she's coming back.

All the injury news on that front is "out indefinitely". She apparently had the foot fracture all season and was playing through it until doctors said it could mess her up long term. I don't know what kind of fracture it is, but 4-6 weeks is usually the minimum. That would give her a chance to return for the playoffs but not before.

Will be interesting to see if the Aces have anything new to throw at the matchup tonight. It's kind of an interesting situation playing your biggest rival this many times in short period of time so late in the season. If I was Becky Hammon (or Sandy Brondello), would I want to use strategic adjustments now or save them for the playoffs? It would be kind of crazy if the Liberty gave the Aces 3 fat losses when this team has only lost 2 other times.

Marine Johannes is an animal. I love the three guard lineup with Sabrina, Sloot and Johannes with Lainey at the small ball 4

They've got to stop interviewing coaches while they're focused on the game on the sidelines while the ball is live. They did this to Hammond today and honestly this doesn't help.

Aces caught another L today

Feels like we're getting set up for a Finals for the ages between Aces and Liberty. Pretty cool.

I don't want to get ahead of myself but if it happens, it will be a pivotal moment imo in growing the sport just like how LSU/Iowa was.

Speaking of LSU, they may have one of the most loaded rosters in NCAA history with Van Lith and Morrow coming via the transfer portal. Those girls must have it out for future #1 pick Caitlin Clark

The big clash this week is the Liberty taking on Alyssa Thomas, who is just flat out one of if not the best overall player in the sport, DeWanna Bonner and the Sun Thursday on Amazon Prime.

Must watch TV. Last game was an 8 point Liberty win.

Good game so far between the Liberty and Aces.

I don't want to jynx it, but the Aces do not look unstoppable like they did earlier this season.
