I'm going to remain skeptical on NSJ but we're also again not helping him look good (outside of last night) by making him the primary P and ball handler because he's kinda like Terry. Once he gets the ball, option 1, 2 and 3 are to call your own number. But he did impress me with the moves he put on to get space and take open shots last night in the 4th. So kudos to him for that, but I don't think we'll see that consistently because his shot selection has mostly been terrible. But as an off-guard, I think he's got a lot of promise. We just have way too many of these selfish chuckers on the roster though - we HAVE to change that. And while Bailey has promise too, I don't know why you'd draft him after drafting NSJ when you already have Bouk and Bryce. You could field a whole group of 5 non-ball movers at once on this team.

I think if you give Nick Smith Jr the ball with 6 seconds left on the shotclock you're going to get about the same shot quality as if you gave him the ball with 24 seconds on the shotclock and that will be a good role for him to start out on. Bailing out the bench. But yeah, he is absolutely a SG with a capital S. We still need another PG

Not to be a hypocrite, but I'm ok with you hunting your shot if (a) you're decisive and, more importantly, (b) you make your shots

pretty much goes back to the Miller stuff, every other game you see people complaining about everything that isn't making shots "he needs to be more aggressive, he needs to demand the ball, needs to do this and do that etc etc", he takes fewer shots last night than the game before but he actually makes them, and we're all thrilled and not a single bad comment about anything in sight.

ball go in = :)

bouk could be the poutiest Dorito munching alcoholic bitch in the world and I would still love him if he was dropping 20ppg on 45/38/85

I'm still not fully convinced about NSJr but one thing for sure is he's MILES better than Bouknight.

His handle is on another level to Sooknight

Next game will tell us a lot. Did he just need to find his confidence and now we are going to see a different player, or was this simply getting hot for a minute?

Whole team has had can't shoot disease and looked super tight since the start of play. Hopefully playing loose and relaxed will also be contagious and we will see more guys shoot better.

Crazy thing about the whole NSJ thing is people relate this to Duren trade...

But really Hornets turned Own pick, Devonte Graham and Jalen McDaniels into Mark Williams, Nick Smith, Nnaji, McGowens, Svi, Bailey and 2027 Portland 2nd.

So trace it back even further and that's our haul for pick 13, pick 34 and pick 52. Pretty good asset management as a whole.

without that trade we just pick Mark at #13 and do nothing else in the next draft... I'd equate it to Devonte' for NSJ and 4 scratch-off tickets.

I guess better than nothing...? I'd honestly rather have had Devonte' these last two years.

Meh, Devonte was very mediocre and we'd be stuck overpaying him right now if it'd played out like that.

I think his handle and touch are his most impressive skills. If Nick can learn to leverage his ability to create space to find scoring opportunities for his teammates we will have a real player on our hands. I'm hoping LaMelo will have a positive influence in that area.

He also has broad shoulders, so if he puts in the work he should be able to get quite a bit stronger. If he does those things and continues to compete defensively he will be a two-way starter level player.

Video of highlights of the Alabama - Arkansas game mentioned in that hot sauce video. NSJ might just be something special long term.

I have a good feeling about this kid.

He is going to be great, the only reason he is not top5-top10 is his injury. You can see that he has got that swag in him, he is bucket. Oh, and btw. he can play D and we can have great backcourt with him and Melo. Can't wait to see him on court.

Nick Smith and Brandon Miller look like Bert and Ernie when they get in a picture together.

Him changing his number from 00 to 8 gave me a lot more confidence in his BBIQ longterm.
