The difference between G-league guys and 2nd round picks vs actual NBA veterans.

Even if Seth and Bertans aren't that good anymore, they still know how to play. Both of them are our best shooters by far.

Micic is still a former Euro MVP and obviously knows how to manage a game. No hero ball or selfishness or not knowing what to do.

Grant has been a key part of Boston's playoff teams. Even if he doesn't have PJ's talent, he's more steady and smarter.

Mann is the only one similar to the guys we normally have on the bench. But unlike our guys he's been around good veterans in a winning organization.

It is striking how much better the overall level of play looked this game. Even guys like Bertans and Seth just look so much more intuitive and like they belong on the floor.

Exciting times.

Let’s see how they do with a few weeks of Hornet culture . Seth Curry will get a DUI on his way home and Bertans will show up to the next game with a diamond grill in his mouth

Yeah, that's the important part. How will they do after being exposed to our team for prolonged periods of time.

is Micic about to join the Serbian mob?

Is Grant Williams going to start punching his teammates?

Is Bertans going to start... um... not being a nice Latvian lad?

Is Seth Curry going to be beneficiary of nepotism?

Is Mann going to get drunk in his car and run a red light in front of the arena?

We have badly needed real adults on this team for years. It should have happened a long time ago, but damn am I happy that it finally happened.

Had the same thought tonight lol

Mitch is gone in my opinion. Clifford has a chance.

Edit: and I'll go on the record to say Cliff needs one last chance. I don't care if you're the mastermind of the universe you could not and would not win with the roster he had this season with injuries.

this game prove just how **** pathetic mitch's bench was. we grabbed 4 dudes buried on okc/dal bench, all 4 who immediately put all our scrubs out of the rotation

No surprises from Micic. Knew he'd deliver whenever he finally got the chance in the NBA. This is after all Jokic's right hand man on the Serbian national team (that's on par with USA nowadays).

Bertans getting a fair chunk of Brandon Miller's fourth quarter minutes is so Clifford-like. Charlotte might end up being the perfect place for Davis to hang around in the league.

Hornets should have demanded Jovic over the 1st round draft pick in the Rozier trade he will explode once he gets away from Miami and there small ball.

I'm legit kind of excited for Micic on this team. He seemed like a really solid solid backup PG whenever I saw him play for OKC but that team was just so stacked with good guards it seemed like there wasn't any opportunity for him.

Speaking of conspiracy theories, would that mean new ownership just gave Clifford carte blanche to play whoever he wants to get to the playoffs at all costs? Is that even a reasonable/realistic/plausible expectation?

There are five active head coaches right now who have a worse career winning percentage than Clifford. One of them is Washington's interim guy who has been an NBA head coach for 9 games. One is Toronto's first year head coach. Jacque Vaughn is the only one of the five who has at least three full years of coaching experience.

This is Cliffords 10th year as a head coach. His career win% is 42.8%. Hes 5-16 in the playoffs and has 0 series wins. Two of his playoff appearances came off seasons where his team was barely .500 and another was off of a season where his team went 33-40. The last four seasons his record is 92-187

They would have to win all 30 remaining games this season to go 41-41.

Yeah, he doesn't need another year. He's been proven to not be a good coach, his sample size is hundreds of games. Even without this season.

That said, it wouldn't shock me at all if he's back. The fact we still haven't canned Mitch and he's supposedly in Spain with Nnaji make me think we aren't in a rush to make any moves. Cliff isn't going until after Mitch does.

I almost expect it at this point. He has the lowest expectations of any NBA coach Ive ever seen. If he wins like 10-12 of the remaining 30 games and they don't look completely garbage for a few weeks down the stretch I will not be surprised at all if a narrative starts to form with some people that he actually did a good job this season.
