They have probably been putting some subtle (or maybe not so subtle) pressure to get him on court all three years. Wife probably upset and being protective. Well never really know if Gordon is just Uber cautious, a slow healer or was genuinely hurt so bad no player could have played.

I'm still coming back to the misdiagnosis and pr reporting fir both him and Cody. Both are very suspect, regardless of Gordon's prior injury hstory.

I can't recall, but wasn't Martin initially out with quad soreness? Then out of nowhere he has knee surgery. Odd.

Dunno why you'd lump Martin into it. He never came back prematurely. His case seemed to be corrected/upgraded from the original diagnosis.

I guess because it was corrected and upgraded after he played all of half a minute it seemed like and was done. Who knows, though.

martin missed preseason with a knee injury. played 1 min in gm 1 and supposedly injured his quad. he was listed as out for few weeks with quad soreness. then out of nowhere hornets announced he would be having knee surgery. thats a suspicious series of events.

Yeah that's what I'm getting at. The mere fact he literally reinjured whatever it was 45 seconds in is worrisome as well. Coincidence? Maybe.

Gordon is the ultimate beta-male letting his wife defend him in public.

He's an even bigger pussy than I thought previously. I'd be happy to see this bitch ride off into the sunset ASAP.

I'm guessing the young player's mother that is referred to is Bouknights.

Karen Hayward and Karen Bouknight having a moan together.

Sorry Gordon but the team should be putting pressure on you to play seeing as though a sprained ankle sees you out for 2-3 months.

Why is so hard to believe a franchise with the cheapest coaches, scouts, & practice facility in the league most likely has the cheapest medical team as well?

Does anyone not believe that is possible?

Didn't we fire the medical staff not that long ago? If I'm not making that up, this new staff is probably even worse.

We did hire some new medical people last year.

what gets me is we had these chronic repeat injury issues after rushing back players all the time under Clifford, none that I can think of under Borrego, and they've started up again with a whole ass new group of players.

I remember us cleaning house including some members of the medical staff when Clifford was fired the first time.

If a coach (especially one as competitive and demanding as Clifford) has a say in when players come back from injury, that might be an even bigger organizational issue than medical incompetence. Not saying Clifford's to blame here, but it wouldn't shock me.

He probably does intense practices and doesn't let them rest much. Cliff seems old school and I can totally see an old school coach be that way.

Gordon Batum I mean Hayward put up 8 shots in 30 minutes tonight. Must be averaging 7 shots a night recently.

Prompt: a colorful comic book style artwork of a nerdy white basketball player with spikey light brown hair, wearing a white jersey with teal and purple pinstripes with the number "20" on the front. He sitting in front of a computer playing video games, wearing a headset. He has both knees, both ankles, both elbows, wrapped in bandages

If we don't trade Gordon, would anyone mind re-signing him for like 12-15m a year?

His lack of athleticism is really showing lately. He's really hit the wall. He has no lift when jumping. Might be over

I vote no, as his injury history is not worth it. I also believe his usage rate must come way down. Hopefully we use the money toward signing a younger veteran.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Gordon makes sense on a playoff team that can grind tough half court baskets. he has no place on a young team that should be has to make up for lack of experience with running and speed
