Which means i wouldn’t get caught up in where a guy is mocked, because 3-20 are likely all the same value of prospect. So why not someone like McCain at 6. Like Jacquez he just seems to be that gritty type of Grizzlies or Heat player that everyone slept on and plays super hard on both ends of the floor

I think McCain could become a slightly better NBA offensive player than college baller. But still feel his defense isn’t up to snuff.

He's not on YOUR board but you don't speak for the Hornets organisation.

BPA is all I want. I'd also rather a 6'1 PG than a 6'3 SG if we are going to obsess over measurements. He's been mocked in the top 3 by a few boards so the fact you don't like him doesn't mean we aren't being realistic discussing him lol.

That shorty is off my list too.

For a “crappy” draft, it’s sure bringing a lot of strong arguments and discussion

Yeah it is, lol. People seem to have adopted kids in this one. Hopefully it’s not the Scoot is the big dawg folks!

We just need Reed to be Payton Pritchard vs the Hornets.

This thread is turning to gold lol.

1. Castle measurements are known to be wrong and confirmed, with video evidence he is going to measure a good bit bigger. Yet we are just acting like the 6-2 height is fact lol.
2. Sheppard tanked the standing reach contest by like 5 inches, in order to have the 42 inch vert for the social media clout lol.
Big Board
1. Vontae Mack no matter what!!

That’s a dog poop mock draft. No real changes from previous, no combine info considered, Topic’s new injury not factored in, and Edey mocked at the first pick of round 2.

6. Charlotte Hornets: G Stephon Castle
Ht./Wt.: 6-6, 215 pounds | Class: Freshman | UConn

Castle was incredible during the NCAA tournament. The 6-6 guard delivered under pressure on the biggest stage in college basketball, particularly in the Final Four. In his last two games against Alabama and Purdue, Castle averaged 18 points and five rebounds. He is one of the best defending guards in this draft class and consistently smothered some of the best guards as a freshman this past season. He was one of the biggest risers during the tournament and is now a projected top-five pick

I suspect we will be mocked taking Castle a lot, especially with Clingan viewed as most likely an earlier pick. And if he isn’t snapped up earlier, Castle may truly be our best pick option…period. If he can find his shooting touch, and shows enough athleticism to defend league 2’s….BINGO.

He's my pick if he checks out taller than 6'4 which I'm sure he will.

Topic going down really screws us. He’s a guy who I don’t think was a fit here who likely would’ve gone top 5 pre injury. So that lowers the amount of options available to us.

To be fair I don’t see any way that all of Holland, Castle, and Clingan are off the board by 6. I’m very unimpressed by Matas but I guess he’d be fine too. We won’t get a star or even an above average starter imo, but we can still get a useful player.

Here's a reasonable comp for Reed. Made the Knicks look like chumps yesterday. 6'0.5" w/o shoes, 6'2" shod. 6'2" t-rex arms.

ESPN has Karaban 42 to the Hornets. Shot a crazy 90% off the dribble today in a drill.

Castle's father played at Wake Forest. Follow the article linked on Twitter for more.

For goodness sake can anyone give us an update on Castle's height?

The day is almost over yet this kid height can't be found.

Reed Sheppard has the exact same measurements as TJ McConnell. So there's a place for him in the NBA. That is probably his best case scenario though

I'm definitely going to follow Edey for a bit after he's drafted. I love how he keeps people arguing.

There's rumors about that Buzelis is already locked to go 5 to the Pistons, they typically telegraph their picks and his agent is the son of the Vice Chairman of the Pistons

Saw someone say he measured 6’5” with a 6’9” wingspan at the McDonald’s All American game last year. Which matches the eye test. But no official Combine measurements yet.
